Guided meditation from Lil Jon
Talking with XXL, the artist revealed, "I've always kind of meditated a little bit. But when I turned 50, started going through a lot of things.”
“Started going through a divorce, I'm separated now, and all the emotions from the divorce and all that process was really getting to me. So, I found I had to start to go within to calm myself," he continued.
Lil also took the stage at the Super Bowl game on Sunday, February 11th. Reflecting on his performance, he shared, "It was quite a process. A lot of hard work went into it. We spent a significant amount of time figuring out the proper setlists. I believe we went through about 180 different versions of the setlists before finalizing everything."
Lil Jon shares 'crazy' incident from his tour
During his conversation with the outlet, the rapper recounted a crazy story from one of his tours.
“We did this show in Atlanta on Ty [Dolla $ign]’s tour. We were all on the tour bus and it was a bunch of people I didn’t meet. Ty’s tour bus was like the f****n’ Source Awards. But everybody was on there—Trouble, Migos, everybody," he said.

"I’m going to introduce myself to everybody and everybody would be like, ‘Come on, dog, we know who you are. When we workin'? What we doin’?’ That was crazy, but I brought Jermaine [Dupri] out. I brought Hoodrich Pablo Juan out and he did a song; I brought [Lil] Scrappy out and he did 'Head Bussa,'" he added.
The rapper further added, "And then I closed my set with Jermaine and he did 'Welcome to Atlanta' in Atlanta and the whole crowd went crazy. Like, no one really brings JD out to do that, so I’m thinking that’s Jay-Z level. That’s crazy. Do we have footage? I need that.”
"It's really about catching a vibe from people, listening to the homeowners, and [giving them] a place where they can create memories with their family," he explained.
Lil Jon teams up with designer Anitra Mecadon for The second season of ‘Lil Jon Wants to Do What?’ on HGTV. "Anitra's always trying to juggle and save," he said. "I'm like, 'Hey, no, we just do this.' [And she says,] 'No, Jon. We don't have it in the budget.'"
The album is titled 'Total Meditation' and will include 10 tracks that aim to "relieve anxiety, boost focus and find peace," per Jon.
