ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Rumors about rapper Rich Homie Quan’s death began widely circulating on social media on Thursday, September 5, leaving fans and fellow musicians shocked.

Quan's family told TMZ, that they are "shattered and heartbroken" by his sudden death. The rapper died in his Atlanta home, his family confirmed to the publication

The speculations hinted that the 34-year-old rapper had died of an overdose or a heart attack.

Atlanta Radio Hot 107.9, citing a source, reported, "Rich Homie Quan ingested counterfeit Percocets laced with Fentanyl." However, the report clarified that Quan's official "toxicology report has not yet been released."



 

The exact cause of his death remains unconfirmed.

Fan pages, including the Young Thug fan account Thugger Daily, played a significant role in suggesting the rapper has died.

The account wrote, "RIP Rich Homie Quan, the soundtrack to my high school years, one half of my favorite music duo of all time, and an Atlanta legend."



 

Before the above post from the same page, it had written, "Hearing Rich Homie Quan passed away today due to a possible OD… Please don’t be true."



 

Jacquees and Boosie Badazz mourn Rich Homie Quan's death

Fellow rapper Jacquees, also known as the King of R&B, seemed to confirm the tragic news through their social media posts.

On X (formerly Twitter), Jacquees wrote, "Rest in Peace my brother Rich Homie Quan. I love you for Life. #Richgang."

In another tribute, he posted a black and white picture of the rapper with the caption, "Legend."



 



 

Boosie Badazz also shared a series of emotional messages on X, confirming his friend's death. "JUST GOT WORD @RichHomieQuan JUST OD JUST TALK TO WUAN THE OTHER DAY #gomissunigga," he posted.

In a follow-up message, he added, "JUST TALKED TO YOU BRA #tipQUAN Never go forget yo smile n the way talked n of course yo music."

Boosie expressed his grief over the loss, saying, "WE GOT SOME GOOD ASS MEMORIES TOGETHER N THAT GO ALWAYS BRING A SMILE TO MY FACE #restupquan WE WAS COOKING UP SOME SHIT TOO."
