Tyreek Hill's mom Anesha Sanchez allegedly slaps woman and breaks necklace during altercation
SOUTHWEST RANCHES, FLORIDA: Tyreek Hill's mother, Anesha Sanchez, has been accused of slapping a woman and breaking her necklace during an altercation that took place in early July, as per TMZ.
The incident, which allegedly unfolded in Southwest Ranches, Florida, has now led to a police report being filed by the woman involved, bringing the spotlight onto Sanchez, who has often been seen supporting her NFL star son from the sidelines.
Anesha Sanchez accused of violent behavior in a recently-filed police complaint
According to police documents obtained by TMZ Sports, the altercation occurred around July 1.
The documents reveal that the confrontation took place between Sanchez and a woman identified as Maleney, who is described as a friend of Sanchez. The two were reportedly involved in a heated argument that escalated into a physical confrontation.
The police report details that during the argument, Sanchez offered to give Maleney a ride home, seemingly as a gesture to defuse the situation. However, the situation took a turn for the worse during the car ride.
Maleney claims that Sanchez, in a sudden fit of anger, slapped her across the face with the back of her hand. The slap allegedly led Sanchez to order Maleney out of the vehicle, only to retract her demand moments later due to inclement weather.
As Maleney was attempting to get back into the car, Sanchez allegedly reached out, but instead of pulling her back into the vehicle, she accidentally grabbed Maleney’s gold necklace, snapping it in the process.
The broken necklace seems to have become a focal point in the ongoing dispute, with Maleney claiming that as of July 31, she had not yet received the jewelry back, despite Sanchez's promise to have it repaired.
No official charges have yet been filed against Anesha Sanchez
Despite the physical nature of the altercation, Maleney stated in the police report that she did not want anyone to be arrested. Her primary concern appears to be the return of her broken necklace, which has yet to be handed back to her by Sanchez.
The filing of the police report suggests that Maleney is seeking a resolution to the situation, albeit without pursuing criminal charges.
The report also indicates that Maleney was cooperative with law enforcement, providing them with details of the incident. However, as of now, no charges have been filed against Sanchez, and the case remains open.
This incident marks a rare public controversy for Sanchez, who is usually seen in a supportive role for her son Hill, the star wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins.
Hill, who is known for his electrifying performances on the field, has shared a close bond with his mother throughout his career.
The recent incident isn't the first time Sanchez has found herself in the headlines.
In 2023, she was at the center of a different kind of controversy during a Miami Dolphins game. Following a 64-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to Hill, the wide receiver made his way to the stands to deliver the touchdown ball to his mother.
However, the gesture was interrupted by an eager fan who intercepted the ball before it could reach Sanchez. The fan eventually handed the ball to Sanchez after realizing the situation, The Independent reported.
