NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On Monday, April 29, George Santos, the former congressman tarnished by multiple controversies, announced his intention to temporarily embrace his drag alter ego, Kitara Ravache.

After a brief tenure representing New York's 3rd District, Santos, who faced expulsion from the House in December of 2023 due to a scandal-filled term, took to X (formerly Twitter) to reveal that he would be providing personalized Cameo videos featuring his drag persona, as per The Hill.

Portion of proceeds from Kitara Ravache's cameo page goes to charitable endeavors

According to Ravache's Cameo page, a significant portion of the proceeds from the videos, priced at $350 each, would be allocated to charitable endeavors. Specifically, the page indicated that 20% of the earnings would be directed towards worthy causes.

Of this amount, 10% would be contributed to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, aiding families affected by the 9/11 tragedy, whereas another 10% would be designated to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, a philanthropic organization supporting Israel.

In a video on the page, Santos explicitly mentioned, "It's going to be super limited to a couple of days."

While Santos was still serving in Congress, images of him dressed in drag had surfaced, causing a stir. Initially, he confirmed the authenticity of the photos but denied having performed as a drag queen, stating, "I was young, and I had fun at a festival."

Brazil-based drag performer recalls George Santos' participation in beauty pageant

However, statements from Eula Rochard, a Brazil-based drag performer, seemed to oppose Santos' assertions. Rochard claimed to have known Santos as a drag queen and recalled his participation in a beauty pageant as Ravache in 2008.

Furthermore, a series of videos surfaced, suggesting that Santos had been seen dressed as his drag persona for at least three years, raising doubts about his earlier claim that it was a one-time thing.

In January 2023, Jan Sport, a star from 'RuPaul's Drag Race', commented that Ravache's drag was quite good, but she criticized Santos for being hypocritical by associating with conservative lawmakers who have criticized drag culture.

Various states, including Montana, Texas, and Florida, have tried to pass laws banning drag shows in specific public places. Santos' political career was marked by controversy from the beginning, with reports emerging that accused him of lying about aspects of his life story and resume details.

Internet trolls George Santos in wake of his drag persona's Cameo debut

The internet was quick to troll Santos upon hearing the news of his drag persona's Cameo debut. One user on X remarked, "Unemployed behavior. Bills past due, rent in collections, car being repoed. It’s not cute or funny to give this enemy of the queer community money when there are drag queens&kings much funnier than him, much more committed to a righteous cause, simply deserving. Book them."

Another user chimed in, suggesting, "Has to be right up at the top of all time best MAGA grifts." One commenter took a more direct approach, addressing Santos with a plea, "George, honey, for the love of god, please stop making a fool out of yourself. Get a job stacking shelves or flipping burgers or anything HONEST for a change."

Meanwhile, another individual criticized Santos' actions, stating, "when you’re transphobic but you’re broke so you need to crossdress now that not even the transphobes want you." A user bluntly stated, "Bro is the most shameless person of all time istg."

Another user highlighted the apparent lack of surprise, stating, "The gag is 'we all' been knew. George, you’ve reached the point in your make believe where you are only lying to yourself." A user condemned him, saying, "George Santos has got to be one of the most toxic politicians today. He repeatedly lied that he ever did drag. Now he is selling cameos of him in a dress."

One user didn't mince words, tweeting, "Of course @MrSantosNY truth telling has never been your thing. A serial liar and conman.. Only the absolute dumbest will fall for your grift."
