MINNETONKA, MINNESOTA: UnitedHealthcare has terminated the employment of a staffer after a video surfaced online appearing to show her expressing disappointment that President Donald Trump was not killed in the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner shooting.

In the video, the employee, identified as Alison King, is seen reportedly saying “aww, they missed” in reaction to the suspect’s failed plot against Trump and other officials.

The shooting threw the White House Correspondents’ Dinner into chaos, when the suspect, identified as Cole Allen, charged through a security perimeter and opened fire near the screening area.

He was immediately stopped and arrested by law enforcement. He is currently facing three counts, including attempting to assassinate the president.

Alison King called the shooting ‘fake’

King has reportedly deleted her LinkedIn account after her video stirred online backlash, but she has been identified as a social media manager for UnitedHealthcare.

In the clip, she says her initial reaction was to assume the incident was "probably fake", before sarcastically asking, "Aww, they missed."

“We’re cooked as a country when my first reaction to hearing the news about Trump’s attempt was, ‘It was probably fake,’” King said in the video.

“Like, immediately I was like, ‘Oh, that wasn’t real, probably fake,’” King said. “And the second was ‘Aww, they missed? So happy they missed.’ Yeah, that’s sad,’” she continued.

Amid mounting calls for her dismissal, UnitedHealthcare released a statement, noting that “Violence is never acceptable and any comments that suggest otherwise are in no way consistent with our mission and values.”

“The person who made comments online about Saturday night’s incident at a Washington event where President Trump and many other political leaders were gathered is no longer employed by the company," the statement continued, according to Fox News.

Karoline Leavitt slams narrative alleging WHCD shooting was ‘staged’

King’s termination came after White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt pushed back on an online narrative alleging that the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner was staged.

“It’s very important to us that we get the truth and the facts about this case and any case out there as quickly as possible, to dispel some of that crazy nonsense that you see running rampant online,” Leavitt told reporters at the White House.

She said Trump and Vice President JD Vance were taken to safety “seconds” after shots were fired at the Washington Hilton and commended the Justice Department and FBI for doing a “good job of disseminating facts about this attempted assassin.”

“As far as we’re concerned, [we want] to provide maximum transparency,"

“And hopefully people will believe the truth instead of the lies and the conspiracies that so often do go crazy on social media,” she added.
