Usher reveals why he postponed Atlanta concert just hours before Past Present Future tour opener
ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Usher has announced the postponement of his highly anticipated tour opener in his hometown of Atlanta just hours before he was set to take the stage.
The R&B legend who was scheduled to kick off his Past Present Future tour on Wednesday, August 14, at the State Farm Arena announced the decision on Instagram.
Usher's heartfelt statement over the postponement of his show
In a statement shared to social media on Wednesday, August 14, Usher revealed that he is postponing the first show of the tour due to physical pain he has been experiencing in the days leading up to the event.
"For my 30-plus year career, 100% of my blood, sweat and tears has gone into putting on the best performance and creating a memorable experience for my fans," he wrote.
"I have every intention of doing that for this tour as well which is why I have to postpone tonight's show and reschedule it for a later date to give my body a second to rest and heal," he added.

Usher further spoke about the rescheduled date of the canceled concert as he noted, "You’re still going to get a bit of the past, some of the present, and a unique look into the future on the rescheduled date but you’ll also be getting 100% of me."

"The last thing I want to ever do is disappoint you, the fans who have been eagerly waiting for this tour to start," he continued.
"However, I wouldn't be the entertainer that I am if I can’t physically give you my best," the singer added.
The status of Usher's next two scheduled performances at the State Farm Arena on Friday, August 16, and Saturday, August 17, according to Variety.
The 'Superstar' singer assured ticket holders that more details regarding the rescheduled date for Wednesday's show would be shared soon, adding, "My team will be sharing news of the rescheduled date soon."
Despite the setback, Usher ended his announcement on a positive note, expressing his eagerness to reconnect with his fans once he's fully recovered.
