Valerie Bertinelli's BF Mike Goodnough says he's 'glad we're together' as he opens up on their romance
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The mystery surrounding Valerie Bertinelli's new partner has finally been solved as writer Mike Goodnough confirmed their relationship in a post through his Substack.
On Wednesday, April 17, Goodnough wrote on the publishing platform that he is dating Bertinelli and shared that he received permission from the cookbook author to reveal the news to his readers.

Revealing his relationship with Bertinelli, Goodnough wrote, "I am Valerie Bertinelli’s boyfriend… and that may well be among the most surreal sentences I’ve ever pecked out."
"But it’s true… and nothing about our actual relationship seems surreal. It just seems… good… lucky… a gift. Life is crazy, kids. It just is. It’ll rain h---fire down on you for years and bring you to your knees… and then it’ll open the skies to deep blue and love and calling someone 'Honey' because you just love the absolute h--- out of her and feel so very thankful for the gift of that feeling, the gift of her," he continued.
"So, the little rumor going around, consider it happily confirmed. I just adore her. I’m so glad we’re together," Goodnough shared on his Hoarse Whisperings Substack.

In his post which included a picture of himself with Bertinelli's cats, Bubba and Henry, Goodnough joked about people being shocked about their relationship.
"Valerie Bertinelli… dating… me!?! I know. Ludicrous," he joked.

The writer also noted the growing interest in their story as he shared, "Along with being in a relationship with someone of Valerie’s accomplishments and renown come certain things."
"Among them is increased attention. I’ve already seen a bit of that here on Substack in the form of a little uptick in signups for free subscriptions," he continued.
"People read about someone, get curious, and go check them out. Totally natural. The net result is a growing community – which is good," he added.
Goodnough also revealed that in an upcoming post, he will open up about how he and Bertinelly met, according to OK Magazine.
However, the 'Food Network' star recently shared insights into her new relationship as she revealed that they initially connected around 2016 or 2017 through social media.
Bertinelli, who was still married to her ex-Tom Vitale at the time, split from the financial planner in 2022.
Despite her initial reservations about dating after two divorces, the actress found herself embracing her new romance.
"I'm in love. It’s a seesaw of emotions because I was adamant I was never falling in love again," Bertinelli admitted.
"I was supposed to die with my six cats and my dog and very happily live the rest of my years alone, I'm good alone," she added.
"My belly is flip-flopping. This was not supposed to happen," she continued.
