Video of Nicole Kidman batting away Salma Hayek's hand in tense exchange at Paris Fashion Week goes viral

PARIS, FRANCE: Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek had a heated exchange on the red carpet of the Balenciaga show during Paris Fashion Week last month. 

Footage of the incident shared online two weeks ago, has since ignited a frenzy as fans debate who was in the right and who was in the wrong.

The tense moment unfolded as Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek posed for photos alongside Katy Perry on September 30. 

A viral video showed Hayek using her hands to turn Kidman toward the camera, as the 'The Perfect Couple' actress had her back to the photographer.

When Hayek gently touched her, Kidman reacted by grabbing Hayek's hand and pushing it away while allegedly saying, "Don't touch me."

Kidman then leaned in to kiss Perry and exchanged a brief conversation with Hayek before walking off.

Although the specifics of their exchange remain unclear, after Kidman moved on, Hayek was heard saying, "Yes, please advise," to which Kidman reportedly replied, "You don't need it." Hayek countered, "I do."

The moment passed as Hayek posed with Perry for more photos. In the images shared online, Kidman appeared in a sleek black turtleneck dress paired with sheer tights, stilettos, and sunglasses, while Hayek opted for a black dress with a plunging neckline.

In an Instagram carousel post shared on October 1, the 'Frida' actress included a photo with Kidman that showcased their awkward body language, captioning it, "Finally last night the grand finale of my Paris Fashion Week 2025… [applauds] Balenciaga and Demna for a terrific show.."

In contrast, Kidman did not post anything about the grand event.

Her appearance at the show was significant as it marked her first public outing since the death of her mother Janelle Ann Kidman. The 57-year-old learned of her mother’s death upon arriving at the Venice Film Festival, where she won the Best Actress Award for her new film 'Babygirl'.

One wrote, "Nicole might not have that job for long since Selma’s husband owns Balenciaga." Salma's husband, Francois-Henri Pinault, is the CEO of Kering, which owns several luxury brands including Balenciaga, Gucci, and Yves Saint Laurent. 

Another added, "Poor darlings, they really have a rough old time of it don’t they."

"Selma is, and always has been, a class act. Nicole not so much. It’s just who they are as people. What’s not to love about Selma?! Can’t say the same about Nicole," expressed a person.
