WASHINGTON, DC: A short video clip filmed during a White House event this week has ignited fresh debate online over President Donald Trump’s health, after social media users suggested he appeared to fall asleep during an Oval Office meeting.

The footage, recorded on Wednesday as Trump signed legislation restoring whole milk to school cafeterias nationwide, shows the president seated at the Resolute Desk with aides and guests gathered around him.

At one point in the clip, Trump’s eyes appear to be closed while a woman standing nearby speaks, prompting speculation across social platforms that he may have briefly nodded off.

The video quickly gained traction online, with several users interpreting Trump’s closed eyes as a sign that he had fallen asleep during the meeting.

“Sleepy Don.” one user commented on X. Another user focused on a child visible in the frame, writing, “The little girl noticed. ‘Mom, look, the old man is sleeping,’ while looking at her mom.” Another said, “Come on! He's just ‘thinking hard.’”

The moment unfolded during a formal signing ceremony in which Trump approved legislation restoring whole milk to school cafeterias across the United States, reversing Obama-era nutritional guidelines that restricted higher-fat milk options.

Addressing those present, Trump framed the move as bipartisan common sense.

“Whether you're a Democrat or a Republican, whole milk is a great thing,” he said during the event.

The bill signing itself drew limited attention compared with the online reaction to the brief clip, which has since overshadowed the policy announcement in public discourse.

Health scrutiny follows Trump amid past medical speculation

The renewed attention comes amid ongoing public scrutiny of Trump’s health, which he has repeatedly dismissed as unfounded.

In recent months, speculation resurfaced after images circulated showing visible bruising on the president’s hand, prompting questions about his medical condition. Trump has previously brushed off such concerns, insisting he remains fit and capable of performing his duties.

Administration officials have also pushed back against health-related rumors, emphasizing that the president undergoes regular medical evaluations.

“He's in incredible health,” Kennedy said. He also referenced comments from television personality and physician Mehmet Oz, stating that Oz had reviewed Trump’s medical records.

“Dr Oz looked at his medical records and said he's got the highest testosterone level that he's ever seen for an individual over 70 years old,” Kennedy added, noting that Trump would likely appreciate the remark being repeated publicly.
