WASHINGTON, DC: A video that has gone viral across social media showed CBS News White House correspondent Olivia Rinaldi's ecstatic real-time reaction on learning of pop icon Taylor Swift's engagement.

Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce announced their engagement with an Instagram post on Tuesday, August 26. The couple had been dating since 2023, and the songstress has since been a regular sight at Chiefs games.
CBS News' Olivia Rinaldi's ecstatic reaction to Taylor Swift's engagement goes viral
In the viral video, Olivia Rinaldi was seen stunned by looking at her phone. Rinaldi was outside the White House preparing for a live shot at the time of the announcement.
She repeated several times, "Taylor Swift is engaged!" before going on-air.

"This — come back to me! She just posted it. Oh my god! Oh, it’s huge! The ring is ginormous! This is so exciting!" she added.

At one point in the clip, Rinaldi joked that she felt like Paul Revere breaking the news to those around her.
Moments later, she went on air and announced, "This is a very exciting moment for me in my professional career because I get to announce that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce engaged!"
"As you were talking to Joe Lang, our lovely producer, Gaby Ake texted me and said, ‘Taylor Swift’s engaged,’ and you can see it right there on her social media," Rinaldi added.
She further said, "She put it up in that post that they got engaged with the caption, ‘Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,’ with a little dynamite sign there. Very exciting here that we get to break that and tell you about that."

In the announcement post shared on social media, Travis Kelce, who is seen in the photos on bended knee, proposed with a ring made by New York City-based designer Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry.
