LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The 'Fast & Furious' series has evolved dramatically since its inception, shifting from gritty street racing to gravity-defying stunts and global-scale action.

With ten films already under its belt and another on the horizon, franchise star Vin Diesel has expressed his desire to steer the series back to its origins: authentic street racing.

This unexpected announcement has sparked a flood of reactions on social media platform X, with fans humorously critiquing the timing of Diesel’s epiphany.

One user humorously summarized the sentiment, writing, “Only took them 7 movies to realize that.” Others shared their own takes on the franchise’s far-fetched evolution, "Wait, so they aren’t gonna time travel and fight the Avengers in the next one?!”

“We’ve been wanting that for 7 movies now. F&F 11 gonna end up with y’all in space with the Walking Dead crew,” a user noted.

“Nooo they haven’t done interdimensional racing yet,” another user noted.

Some fans suggested, "Bro rewatched the first couple of films like me on Netflix and thought damn we really steered far away from this."

"Ever since the fifth film, they’ve broken away from that but considering the next film is “supposedly” the final one, I’m curious how they’re gonna work that out," a user said.

Vin Diesel, the face of Dominic Toretto in the 'Fast & Furious' franchise, has shared intriguing details about the upcoming 11th installment. On November 28, Diesel took to Instagram to reveal some behind-the-scenes discussions, including Universal’s push to release the next chapter by 2026 and his personal desire to steer the series back to its origins.

In his post, Diesel wrote, "I got Universal in one ear saying we need FastX2 by March 2026! I have Comcast in the other ear saying we need two movies to be the Finale! Then the writer on Fast Five sent me this image and said we need to see DOM and HOBBS resolve their differences. I just want to get back to real street racing, practical stunts… and a reunion of that beautiful brotherhood."

This comment has sparked speculation about how the franchise might revisit its roots in street racing and practical action, even as it juggles larger-than-life narratives.

Fans are skeptical but intrigued about the possibility of the franchise returning to its early days. Over the years, the series has ventured into increasingly bold territory, including international heists, submarine chases, and even space missions.

As Diesel noted, the dynamics between characters like Dom and Luke Hobbs (played by Dwayne Johnson) could play a pivotal role in the narrative, signaling an emotional resolution alongside high-octane action.
