LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: June Shannon, aka "Mama June," revealed that she has dropped 65 pounds and shared the strategy behind her amazing weight loss in a recently released social media video.

Mama June — real name June Elizabeth Stroud — has been on a weight loss journey over the past five months. She revealed in the latest update that she still has 50 pounds to lose while detailing that she consumed 31.7g of protein during her lunch, per The US Sun.

Mama June's weight loss strategy includes eating 'grilled salmon' and hitting the gym

The 45-year-old celebrity gave an explanation of her weight loss journey in a video posted on Instagram on Tuesday, September 17. "OK guys. I am 50 pounds down as of yesterday," she stared.

"65 sorry! 65. I started off this journey as 285, yesterday I weighed in at 220 exactly," June said.

June went on to describe her lunch, which consisted of grilled salmon and corn from Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen. "The grilled salmon by itself is 440 calories. The corn is 120," she said.

She added, "So all together that is 560 calories, but it has 31.7 grams of protein and this is how you eat out whenever you’re on a weight loss journey."

Then, early in the year, June disclosed that she changed her diet, started taking weight loss injections, and has been working out hard at the gym.

June requested her online followers to share their favorite takeout dishes that they order when attempting to lose weight after mentioning that she cooks most of her meals at home and does not dine out much.

Mama June earlier revealed receiving weight loss injections

Over the years, fans have seen June's weight fluctuations. In April, she revealed that she was receiving injections for weight loss after gaining 130 pounds.

June revealed that she had weight loss surgery in 2016 and that she eventually lost enough weight to be weighed at 195 pounds. She clarified that she still has 50 pounds to lose despite consuming 31.7g of protein during her lunch.

Mama June previously shared her weight loss journey and told US Weekly, "I’ve been doing tirzepatide, which is like Mounjaro, for eight weeks."

The TV star acknowledged she still had 72.6 pounds to lose and has turned to the gym to help her lose weight.

She said at the time, "I’m going [into] my ninth week this week and I’ve lost 30 pounds, and I really have kept myself strict. I don’t ever want to go down to 130 pounds, [which] I was when in season 1 [of From Not to Hot]. I went from a 24 to a size zero."

The 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' alum added she works out "in the gym three or four times a [week]" and that she has been losing "only four to five pounds a week."

June also mentioned that she did not experience any of the usual adverse effects of the weight-loss medication, such as nausea, indigestion, or stomach problems.

Soon after June uploaded the video, a number of her admirers praised her in the comments section as she continued her weight loss journey.

One user wrote, "Pretty good job on the make up! Congrats on the weight loss June!"

A second user added, "I love you mama june! You look amazing and I’ve been following you on this whole journey and I love how far you’ve come from everything!!!"

"Mama June you look beautiful," exclaimed a third follower, while another added, "Keep the good work up June you can do it love the show can’t wait till you come back on TV pumpkin and the family".
