Simone Biles gets furious after rare mistake during beam final costs her Olympic medal
PARIS, FRANCE: Simone Biles lost her cool after making a rare mistake while competing for yet another gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Counted among the most successful gymnasts of all time, the athlete lost her control on the beam, costing her the top spot on Monday, August 5.
The 27-year-old, after faltering, called out the crowd inside Paris' Bercy Arena. However, she regained her composure and finished her performance by scoring 13.100.

Simone Biles unhappy with crowd after her rare fall at Paris Olympics
Simone Biles was visibly disturbed and even went to her coach and teammates at the seating area and complained about the crowd present at the venue.
As per reports, the gymnast accused the audience of making unnecessary sounds as she walked in for the beam final competition.
Biles was seen throwing her hands in the air, and seemed to be appealing audience to "stop shushing" before adding: "Why are they all shushing? As soon as I’m going they’re like shushing so much."
USA teammate Sunisa Lee responded, “I don’t know why, are they [the Olympic gymnastics organizers] telling them to?”
Commentator on Simone Biles unseen 'anger'
Craig Heap, the BBC commentator said he’d "never seen Simone Biles look so angry" in his life, according to Sport Bible.
“She was not happy. Something has gone on in the arena. Simone is not happy at all. It just goes to show she is a human being. All the other ladies in that final have made mistakes. She’s not invincible,” he said
Heap's co-commentator Matt Baker joined in, “She’s talking about the atmosphere. She’s talking about shushing. The feeling in here is like a cauldron when the gymnasts are on. Oh my word.”
Biles ended up finishing fifth after a costly mistake at the beam final event. Italy's Alice D'Amato bagged gold with a score of 14.366.
Meanwhile, China's Zhou Yaqin earned herself a silver medal with 14.100. Manila Esposito of Italy took home the bronze with 14.000.
Biles, though had a podium finish in the women’s floor exercise final on Monday, August 5 with a silver medal. This was her four medals, including three golds this year. It is the first time she has not won gold in a floor exercise final.
