Soon they did the moonwalk, Michael Jackson’s signature step, while floating underwater upside down. Naturally, their striking moves left spectators and fans astonished and awe-struck.
Michael Jackson's moonwalk is iconic. The King of Pop would swing his arms back and forth as the opposite leg slid backward. He also popped his head back and forth and hunched up his shoulders as he moonwalked.
On Tuesday, August 6, the team performed their free routine and on Wednesday, they will be performing an acrobatic routine - which has been introduced at the Paris Olympics.
After Wednesday’s routine, medals will be handed over, per Reuters.
Despite their complex moonwalking during the technical routine on Monday, Team USA was placed in fourth place.
However, the team’s Tuesday’s performance to the theme ‘I am the Water’ impressed judges and they climbed up to the second position with 69 points behind first-placed China. Spain is currently in the third position.
