'We are so back': Internet excited as Netflix unveils plans for 'Squid Game' Season 2 premiere in 2024
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: As 2024 begins, Netflix is gearing up to captivate its audience with a fresh array of shows and movies. The highlight, however, is the much-anticipated release of the second season of 'Squid Game' later this year, which they announced recently.
The immense success of 'Squid Game' prompted Netflix to launch a live game show inspired by the Korean series. However, the streaming giant faced criticism for the perceived lack of safety measures for participants from around the globe.
Allegations also arose that Netflix was merely capitalizing on the 'Squid Game' name, especially when the winner, Mai Whelan, disclosed that she had not yet received the $4.56 million prize money.
Netflix recently encountered controversy with the release of the trailer for their miniseries 'Griselda', based on the true story of the notorious Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco. Griselda's family filed a lawsuit against Netflix and the series lead, Sofia Vergara.
