'We are thrilled': Alan Cumming and Jane Lynch join the cast for ‘The Bravest Knight’ upcoming season 2

VANCOUVER, CANADA: Hulu’s 'The Bravest Knight' has announced two new additions to its star-studded cast for the second season.

Alan Cumming and Jane Lynch will lend their voices to the animated series that features LGBTQ+ characters and families in a fantasy setting, Variety reports.

'The Bravest Knight':  The plot show follows the adventures of Sir Cedric

The show, produced by Big Bad Boo Studios and broadcast by Hulu and CBC Kids, follows the adventures of Sir Cedric, a former pumpkin farmer who became a brave knight.

He is married to Prince Andrew and has a 10-year-old daughter named Nia who wants to be a knight like her father.

Cedric tells Nia stories of his past exploits with his troll friend Grunt, as they faced dangers and challenges in the magical kingdom.

According to the outlet, the second season is set to air later this year, will introduce new characters and adventures for the young Cedric and Grunt.

Alan Cumming will voice Lug Lug, a vegetarian ogre who befriends them, while Jane Lynch will voice Sheriff Reginald, a pompous and scheming villain who tries to stop them.

They will join the returning cast members, including TR Knight as Cedric, Bobby Moynihan as Grunt, Storm Reid as Nia, Wilson Cruz as Andrew, Christine Baranski as the Red Dragon, Teri Polo as Saylor the raven, and Steven Weber as the Head Knight.

“We are thrilled by the show’s reception, and excited for the chance to reveal the next chapter of the story, brought to life by a remarkable cast,” he said.

“I would have loved this show as a kid,” he said, adding “With all its humor and heart, I’m beyond proud to be a part of the adventures for season two!”

The show which is directed by Shabnam Rezaei has won GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Kids and Family Programming in 2020.

The first season boasted guests-stars like RuPaul, Wanda Sykes, Jazz Jennings, and AJ McLean, while several other stars and Queer icons are in negotiation to accompany Cumming and Lynch in season two, the report mentioned.
