NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Tony Ganios, the actor famous for his role as Anthony “Meat” Tuperello in ‘Porky’s’, died at the age of 64 on Sunday, February 18, after surgery.

He underwent the medical procedure because of a spinal infection, PEOPLE reported.

Tony Ganios’ fiancee devastated

Ganios’ fiancee, Amanda Serrano-Ganios, shared on X after the tragedy, “The last words we said to each other were 'I love you.’ Love is an understatement. You are everything to me. My heart, my soul, and my best friend. #I love you #tonyganios.”

In another tweet, she explained, “It's just unreal to me right now. It was so fast. He hadn't felt well and hid it from me for days. When he finally told me and was taken to the hospital, his spinal cord was severely infected,” before adding, “They did surgery, next morning, his heart stopped. I'm crushed.”



 

Fans mourn demise

Following the passing of Ganios, who began his movie career with Philip Kaufman’s 1979 film ‘The Wanderers’, many expressed their condolence and paid tribute to him online.

“We lost a real one today. Tony Ganios, you will never be forgotten brother. Wanderers Forever 🙏🏼,” a user tweeted.



 



 

Another one said, “Very saddened to hear the loss of one of my favorite actors Tony Ganios from the porky films& other projects. My dream was to actually meet him ❤️ my thoughts are with him, his friends, and family. 🤍 he will be missed very much, but never forgotten .❤️💕 #tonyganios #porkys.”

The third one shared, “Sad to hear about the passing of Tony Ganios, AKA "Meat" from the 80's Porky's films. #RIP.”



 

A person referring to Serrano-Ganios posted, “Amanda,  I'm truly sorry for the loss of the love of your life. I will always remember Tony from the Wanderers.  He seemed like such a kind, gentle soul. My heart goes out to you. May he rest in peace.”



 

“I can't even comprehend this. Amanda, I can't imagine what you are going through. He was so blessed to have you- you were so blessed to have each other. My deepest, heartfelt condolences,” another person said.



 

“Getting sad word that Tony Ganios of ‘Porky's, Porky's 2: The Next Day & Porky's Revenge’ and ‘The Wanderers’ has died at 64.  He was of Greek and Italian descent. God Bless, and may your memory be eternal. Cult Movie Fans will never forget you,” a tweet read.
