Internet hails Blake Shelton as he snags movie role after bidding $40K at charity gala auction

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Blake Shelton is expected to soon appear in a Mark Wahlberg film as he snagged a role in a Friday, May 10 live auction.

During the live auction at the 27th annual Power of Love Gala in Las Vegas, the singer was even honored for his philanthropic work, as reported by PEOPLE Magazine.

During the auction, which was hosted by Keep Memory Alive, an institution that works toward improving the lives of people affected by brain disorders, Shelton reportedly bid on, and won, a walk-on role in a future Wahlberg movie. It cost the country legend $40,000. 

Taking the stage at the event, the 'Body Language' star joked, "I don’t know if you guys saw the auction earlier. This is maybe the last time I’m ever gonna perform country music. I’m a movie star now. I’m not f*****g around."

Following the auction, the TV personality went on to sing three songs – 'Sweet Caroline', 'Ole Red', and 'Sangria', before inviting his wife, Gwen Stefani, onto the stage for a joint performance of 'Nobody But You'.

Stefani could not contain her pride over her husband’s work as she told the audience, "His heart is as big as his voice. His talent is obvious and he lights up the room and brings a smile to everyone he meets that makes us all love him so much. So whether he’s supporting an important cause and organizations across the country, he’s an incredible person."

The 'Rock Steady' singer further noted, "He supports veterans. He supports children’s hospitals, food banks, supports people with disabilities, disaster relief efforts, wildlife conservation, or local communities in need, Blake’s generosity is genuine and endless."

"His dedication to giving back and making a difference and using his platform for good, both publicly and behind the scenes is truly inspiring," concluded Stefani, who tied the knot with Shelton in 2021.
