‘Well deserved’: Fans thrilled as Dr Dre gets honored with star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Dr Dre is the latest rapper to be honored with the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The rapper-producer was accompanied by longtime friend and collaborator Snoop Dogg, joined by Eminem and 50 Cent, as he received his honor, per People

"I wanna thank me for listening to Dre over the years and letting him be my teacher, mentor, brother, guardian, protector, and most importantly, a good friend," Snoop Dogg, told the people gathered as Dr Dre received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday, March 19.

The ‘Life of da Party’ crooner quickly broke into rap mode as the crowd cheered on. 

"Dr Dre, my brother from another mother, a rock in the sand on the beach he'd soon discover, now we deep cover blood brothers on a mission. Dre's edition," he began.

"House with no furniture, studio in the back with a little bit of food in the kitchen. Long Beach to Compton to Calabasas compositions. Pay attention. Quincy had Michael, they rewrote the cycle. So if Dre is Q and Mike is Snoop, we bang G thang motherf**king super group Death Row."

Eminem joins the celebration

Eminem was there to support his friend Dre, whom the latter recently praised during a podcast.

"His imagination is off the charts, and I don’t think anyone would disagree with that. I think he’s the best MC ever. Point blank, period," Dr Dre said about Eminem during an interview on SiriusXM’s 'This Life of Mine with James Corden'.

"Of course, there are going to be arguments about that because he’s a white guy. I don’t think anyone that’s rapping can touch Eminem on that microphone," he added.

Dr Dre suffered from a brain aneurysm in January 2021, and it brought Snoop Dogg and Eminem closer.

"Me and Snoop had our little issue and then when Dre, when that thing happened with Dre, the brain aneurysm thing...." the ‘Without Me’ performer told his longtime manager Paul Rosenberg on SiriusXM's 'Paul Pod: Curtain Call 2'.

"We were like, bro this is stupid. This is stupid as hell to be feuding right now. So I don't remember if I called him, or he called me, I can't remember, but we talked it out."

The Internet also cheered for Dr Dre and was happy to see his close friends making an appearance at the event to show their support for the rap legend.

“His whole crew is with him. 🫶🏼” one person wrote on X.

"This is definitely iconic to see. Salute 🫡 to Dr. Dre. Well deserved," wrote the second.

"They managed to clean up the street long enough for this I guess," the third commented.

Another fan remarked, "Wait, Today...?! HOW DID HE NOT ALREADY HAVE ONE...?!"
