NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former television host Wendy Williams claimed she deserved freedom from conservatorship in a brief interview with Page Six, published on Saturday, March 22.

Wendy reportedly suffers from Graves' disease and lymphedema and has been under a court-ordered conservatorship since 2022. According to The Mirror US, she is making a case for getting back her autonomy over the last few months and being more visible in public.

The 60-year-old believes she was misdiagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia. Since mid-2024, has been living at the Coterie, a care facility in New York City. She has been under the guardianship of Sabrina Morrissey over the last three years, whom she reportedly hates.

How did Wendy Williams argue for her freedom?

Wendy Williams went out for lunch with two of her friends on Friday, March 21, when she briefly spoke with Page Six. Dressed in a short jacket with puffy fur trim, black leggings, and her customary furry boots, she noted that she was doing well but hoped to soon get out of her conservatorship.

As she got on her motorized scooter with which she moved, Wendy stated, "I am fabulous. I’m better than good, but have been accused of being otherwise. I am very much alive. I deserve freedom, darling.”

During the interaction, the celeb was complimented about her sleek figure, to which she quipped, "I got the liposuction and breast implants when I was 31. I’m 60 now and my body’s holding up well!”

However, she refused to answer direct questions about her conservatorship, and instead referred them to her lawyer Ginalisa Monterroso, who stated, "Don’t believe everything you read.”

Wendy Williams has been making talk show appearances

In an attempt to showcase her mental acuity, Wendy Williams has reportedly been calling into shows such as 'The View', 'The Breakfast Club' and 'Good Day New York'.

She appeared on the March 14 episode of 'The View', where she spoke of her dinner date with her niece, Alex Finnie, earlier this month.

"It was great at first. They got me at the hospital, and then — with permission from the guardian, of course — we left the hospital by ambulance, and we stayed (at the living facility) for about an hour because we knew were going out to eat, just to celebrate life,” Williams explained.

“We went to Tucci, great dinner! There were paparazzi, so we stopped. That’s what I do. I stopped, posed, and these two people that work here, they’re downstairs waiting for me,” she said, adding, “I’m not permitted to do anything, but stay on this floor, memory unit.”

Williams was offended for being brought to the "memory unit" which she claimed was meant for people much older than her, and labeled her living facility a "luxury prison."
