NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Wendy Williams' guardian filed new court documents declaring the TV host "permanently incapacitated," less than a year after her dementia and aphasia diagnosis was made public.

The US Sun revealed the startling admission made in court by Williams' guardian's lawyer, Sabrina Morrissey, which was recorded during her legal battle with Lifetime over the documentary 'Where is Wendy Williams?'

Wendy Williams has become 'cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated'

Wendy Williams' legal guardian's lawyers began the new filing, which was submitted on Monday, November 25, by restating Sabrina Morrissey's responsibility to manage the TV personality's funds and affairs.

It stated, "In January 2022, after becoming aware of a pattern of disturbing events concerning [Wendy's] welfare and finances, Wells Fargo took the highly unusual step of initiating a guardianship proceeding on its own initiative in the Supreme Court of New York, New York County (the 'Guardianship Proceeding'), to seek the court appointment of an independent guardian for [Wendy's] financial affairs."

The lawyers for Morrissey then asserted that Williams' severe dementia has "tragically" left her "permanently incapacitated."

"[Wendy is] an acclaimed entertainer who, tragically, has been afflicted by early-onset dementia and, as a result, has become cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated," it stated.

Morrissey then requested discretion from the court. The legal team specifically asked the court to redact Williams' "health, familial relationships, and finances" in order to preserve the privacy of the famous talk show host.

The court filing added, "We respectfully request that the Court grant Plaintiff’s motion for limited redactions to protect non-public information from the Guardianship Proceeding that has been placed under seal by the court overseeing that proceeding."

Williams was diagnosed with alcohol-related brain damage before she was placed under guardianship in 2022. She reportedly received the devastating diagnosis of alcohol-related brain damage in 2019 while undergoing treatment in Delray Beach, Florida.

Wendy Williams' guardian attempted to obtain restraining order against Lifetime

Wendy Williams' guardian attempted to use a restraining order back in February to prevent Lifetime from airing their documentary featuring the legendary TV talk show host.

An appellate judge swiftly reversed the request, ruling that preventing Lifetime from showing the documentary would constitute an "impermissible prior restraint on speech that violates the First Amendment of the institution."

Williams' guardian filed a lawsuit against Lifetime and the production firms involved days before the documentary's premiere, on February 20 but the guardian "never served the Original Complaint," according to the filing.

In October, the case was transferred from the New York Supreme Court to a federal court. The defendants have since sued Williams' guardian in countersuits.

A second fan wrote, "That makes me so sad... I always appreciate the care you take in Wendy when you cover her . And I just appreciate that you haven't forgotten her she's an amazing person this is just so sad."

"This is so sad, cause she worked so hard to make a name for herself and reach the level she did, for it to all end like this with her forgetting everything. This is one of the cruelest things to happen to a person and the hardest for their love ones to deal with," said a third user.

Another remarked, "So sad to learn this news. It seems her decline happened so quickly. My thoughts go out to her and the family."

"Sooo sad, I feel like she could’ve been helped more," chimed in one.
