'Disrespected and exploited': Vanessa Hudgens slams paparazzi for photographing her newborn child
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Vanessa Hudgens is disappointed at the paparazzi for their prying “long lens camera” trying to get pictures of her newborn baby.
The ‘High School Musical’ star took to her Instagram on Thursday to criticize photographers for publishing photos of her newborn child, revealing the birth.
She condemned the paparazzi in strong terms, claiming that her family’s privacy had been violated. However, she reassured her fans that both mother and child are doing fine.
Vanessa Hudgens slams the publication of the news of her baby’s birth
On Thursday, July 4, Hudgens took to her Instagram Story to write, “We’re disappointed that our family’s privacy was disrespected and exploited during this very special time due to the greed of a long lens camera feeding the media.”
Per The Hollywood Reporter, TMZ first broke the news of the baby's arrival by publishing photos of the actress leaving the hospital with her husband Cole Tucker and their infant.
The actress continued, “Despite all of that, mom dad and baby are happy and healthy.”
The ‘Bad Boys for Life’ star, known for her private nature, first revealed her pregnancy in March while hosting The Oscars Red Carpet Show.
Hudgens is married to baseball player Cole Tucker, and the couple tied the knot in December 2023.
Vanessa Hudgens has previously criticized paparazzi intrusion
However, this is not the first time that the Disney alum has slammed the paparazzi. Previously, in 2008, the actress went on a similar tirade against the nosy photographers for their persistence in clicking pictures, per Just Jared.
In a 2008 interview with The Daily Telegraph, Hudgens expressed her frustration with photographers, stating, "I mean, put yourself in my situation: people who you do not know taking pictures of you in your own room! It’s obnoxious and invasive, and I don’t know why they would do it."
The then-19-year-old star also shared that the attention they received was overwhelming at times. She continued, “We have had a few crazy premieres, including in Mexico, where there were about 140 security guards there holding barricades up around us. I’m kind of claustrophobic, so being caged in every so often gets kind of frightening.”
