CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: The final night of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) was filled with powerful moments, but one of the most talked-about came from actress Eva Longoria.

The Texas native, known for her roles in television and film, took the stage to lend her support to Vice President Kamala Harris as she accepted her party’s nomination for the 2024 presidential race.

Longoria’s speech, filled with personal reflections and inspiring rhetoric, culminated in a phrase that quickly caught fire on social media: "She, se puede," as per USA Today.

Eva Longoria turns known Spanish phrase into tagline for Kamala Harris's campaign

Eva Longoria, a prominent advocate for the Latino community and women’s rights, opened her speech by establishing a personal connection with Kamala Harris.

"I’ve known Kamala Harris for more than a decade, and she comes from a family a lot like mine. We were both raised knowing that no one was going to hand us anything, especially as women," the 49-year-old actress shared with the audience.

Longoria’s words resonated deeply, as she spoke about the shared experiences that have shaped both her and Harris.

However, it was her creative adaptation of a well-known Spanish phrase that truly captured the audience's attention.

The phrase "Si, se puede," which translates to "Yes, we can," is deeply rooted in Latino culture, often used to inspire and empower.

In a clever twist, Longoria adapted the phrase to "She, se puede," directly linking it to Harris and emphasizing the message that "She can."

"When somebody asks you, 'Is she ready to lead the country forward?' we’re going to say, 'She, se puede!' When somebody says, 'Is she qualified for the job?' we’re going to say, 'She, se puede!'" Longoria declared passionately.

Her words were met with applause as she emphasized the growing momentum behind the Harris-Walz ticket.

Longoria’s message was clear: the voices and votes of the people would be the deciding factor in the upcoming election. "Our voices, our vote, we are going to decide the election," she concluded.

This is not the first time Longoria has publicly supported Democratic candidates or causes. Earlier this year, Longoria endorsed President Joe Biden for reelection in 2024, even planning an event to rally support.

Even though the event was ultimately canceled, Longoria’s dedication to the Democratic cause remained steadfast.
