'Wheel of Fortune' co-host Vanna White reveals she only works 34 days a year
During the Wednesday, March 5, interview, Vanna White shared, "We film about 34 days a year. That’s it."
She opened up about the production schedule after Elvis Duran's co-host Nate Marino aka Straight Nate said he recently got to know that the show didn’t air live every night.
White added that her schedule required her to film "six shows a day," per the outlet. She mentioned that she still has to change outfits and shoes multiple times daily between recordings.
She stated during the interview, "Come on. You could feel bad for me" and host Duran jokingly replied, "I do not feel sorry for you one bit. That sounds like a great job."
The hosts were surprised that the 68-year-old TV personality spends most of her time away from the set, based at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City.
Marino asked White, "So weird. You have 331 days off a year?" and she replied, "Yes, I guess so."
Meanwhile, Duran said, "And no one deserves it more than you. You’re just the best."
According to a TMZ report, White earned around $3 million yearly to reveal letters on the puzzle board until she renegotiated her contract in 2023.
White got a "substantial pay increase" during negotiations when she signed on to co-host the show for at least two more years, per the outlet.
Meanwhile, her longtime co-host, Pat Sajak, earned $15 million per season before he announced his retirement in June 2023, per the New York Post. White allegedly asked for at least half of what her co-host Sajak made during the recent contract negotiations.
Interestingly, White had earlier gotten center stage in 2019 when she hosted the show solo for the first time as Sajak underwent emergency surgery.
She hosted three weeks' worth of shows during the time but was never tapped for the gig when Sajak left, per the outlet.
The 78-year-old bid farewell to the game show in June 2024 and was replaced by Ryan Seacrest.

Several fans were left surprised when Vanna White, who has been a co-host on 'Wheel of Fortune' for 42 years, revealed during the interview that she works only 34 days a year.
An Instagram user commented, "34 days of work in a year and your net worth is over 80 million!!! Youuuu WIN!!" while one added, "3 hours a day?!?"
A person stated, "Oh But 6 shows a day and millions of dollars. Waaaaaaaa," whereas one mentioned, "Did I hear that right …. Wow. It explains everything why she is still young."
"Omg only working 30 days a year," one more remarked, while another person said, "Wow, she really hit it. Lucky with her dream job all these years."
"It's not 34 days in a row. I read it's broken up by several weeks, intermittently, but the total amount of days that they film totals 34," an individual explained.
"6 half hour episodes... 3hrs plus hour for wardrobe between. About 200hrs a year. Her dollar an hour needs to be studied lol," one more wrote.
