ATLANTA, GEORGIA: 'Chrisley Knows Best' star Julie Chrisley is currently in the custody of the US Marshals.

Over the last week, the disgraced reality TV star’s whereabouts sparked speculations among fans after the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) revealed she was no longer in their custody.

The speculations about the reality TV star’s location first started when a Reddit user posted a screenshot that said Julie Chrisley was “not in BOP custody".

Julie Chrisley’s current whereabouts

Julie Chrisley, along with her husband Todd, was found guilty of financial crimes in 2022. She has been serving a seven-year prison sentence since 2023 at FMC Lexington, a federal prison in Kentucky.

Following online speculations after it was reported that Julie is "not in BOP custody", the US Marshals Service has now confirmed that Julie is in their custody as she awaits her resentencing in federal court in Atlanta on September 25. The transportation of federal prisoners is handled by the US Marshals.

While Julie is currently in their custody, the exact location of the 51-year-old matriarch is currently unknown. Per Daily Mail, there is a federal prison transfer facility in Atlanta, Georgia.

However, it is still unclear why Julie was released from the BOP custody so early, with the BOP declining to provide further information about her location due to “safety, security, or privacy” concerns.

A spokesperson for the agency shared, “Incarcerated individuals who were previously in FBOP custody and who have not completed their sentence may be outside FBOP custody for a period of time for court hearings, medical treatment, or other reasons.”

Nevertheless, her release date is still shown as May 7, 2028.

Julie Chrisley to be resentenced

Initially, Todd and Julie Chrisley were found guilty of 12 counts of financial crimes in 2022. After they were sentenced to a combined 19 years, the popular TV couple started their prison sentence in early 2023.

Their sentences were, however, reduced, with Todd expected to be released from the Federal Prison Camp Pensacola on January 22, 2033, per TV Insider.

Julie was taken to the Federal Medical Center Lexington in Kentucky, where she started her seven-year term in 2023.

However, in June, Todd and Julie’s daughter Savannah revealed in her 'Unlocked' podcast that the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals accepted Julie’s appeals in her sentencing.

While Todd’s appeal was rejected, Julie’s appeal was accepted with the three-judge panel finding insufficient evidence of Julie’s involvement in Todd’s financial fraud schemes before 2007.

Since Todd’s appeal was rejected, he is expected to complete his ten-year prison sentence, which will end in 2033.

Following the court’s order, Julie is now awaiting her resentencing by the lower court on September 25. Though the TV star earlier asked for the hearing to be done via Zoom, her request was rejected.

Internet reacts after Julie Chrisley is 'not in BOP custody'

Julie Chrisley's location sparked curiosity among the fans as they speculated what could have happened.

One of the fans said on Reddit, "She's been traveling for a week and the court date isn't until the 25th. are they walking? lol lol lol."

"She needs to stay in prison & finish out her sentence," said another social media user.

Someone else explained, "If she is transferred by the US Marshall to a county jail she will show as not in BOP custody. She is probably at the county jail where her court date is scheduled."

Another not-so-sympathetic fan added, "I hope she's enjoying her trip! NOT! Lol I hope we get a shot at seeing her too! I don't feel one bit sorry for these fraudsters!"

Another reader commented online, "When prisoners are in transit, their locations are not made public. That's to keep people from trying to intercept a transport to facilitate an escape."

"Though they both aren’t violent offenders; they knew exactly what they were doing and got caught. Prison sentences are a must for them. I doubt they’ll both serve their complete sentences," said someone else.
