The 68-year-old 'EGOT' winner pays tribute to people who have shaped her in her life full of challenges in the book coming from Blackstone Publishing.

'The View' host has previously published several books including children's books. She published 'Alice and the Sugar Plum Ballerinas series in 1992 and also published her books catering to adults including 'If Someone Says ‘You Complete Me’...Run!'.

As per a press release obtained by the outlet, Goldberg's new book is "semi-autobiographical."

Whoopi Goldberg's memoir places focus on her childhood

Goldberg's memoir shifts the focus inward, chronicling her upbringing in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City with her older brother Clyde K Johnson, who died in 2015, and her mother, Emma Harris, who died in 2010.

The actress will also reflect on an incident when her mother, who was a nurse and a teacher Emma returned home from the hospital and had no memory of her children, which she recollects as "the exact moment the trajectory of Goldberg's life changed."

The memoir aims to preserve their memories on the page, offering readers an intimate look into Goldberg's personal history.

“Whoopi Goldberg is an icon and superstar whose work I have thoroughly enjoyed and admired for many years,” read the press release issued by Rick Bleiweiss, Blackstone’s Head of New Business.

"She also happens to be a person with a great deal of humanity…it is a fascinating and compelling read," the statement added.

Speaking about her new book, Goldberg said, "This book is dedicated to everyone who is just trying to figure out the small stuff as well as the stuff where you have to be more than you thought you could be and it’s dedicated to love."
