Whoopi Goldberg stuns trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney with bold claim about female athletes

MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: During a recent episode of 'The View', Whoopi Goldberg left transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney visibly surprised with her bold remarks on female athletes.
The discussion revolved around biological men identifying as females participating in women’s sports, Daily Mail reported.
Dylan Mulvaney jokes about her sports experience
Whoopi Goldberg asked Dylan Mulvaney for her thoughts on California Governor Gavin Newsom's recent comment that allowing transgender athletes to compete in women's sports was "deeply unfair".
“I think it’s an issue of fairness, I completely agree with you on that. It is an issue of fairness — it’s deeply unfair,” Newsom told Charlie Kirk on 'This is Gavin Newsom,' as per Rochesterfirst.
“I am not wrestling with the fairness issue,” continued Newsom, who played varsity baseball as a college student. “I totally agree with you. … I revere sports. So, the issue of fairness is completely legit," he added.
Mulvaney, who came out as trans in March 2022, deflected the question, admitting she isn’t well-versed in sports.
"The last time I played a sport, I was six-years-old, and I was on a soccer team, but I assigned myself as the nurse, so I sat with the Band-Aids," Mulvaney joked, adding, "And so in the words of 'Wicked', I am not that girl."

Instead, she deferred to Schuyler Bailar, a female-to-male transgender NCAA Division 1 swimmer, who had strongly criticized Newsom's remarks as "irresponsible, cowardly, and despicable".
"That's someone who I really look to for guidance," Mulvaney added. "I think that is what's tricky, is like, now stepping into this identity, I'm still like a 'baby trans,' I'm only three years in," she added.
Whoopi Goldberg defends female athletes in fiery rant
Whoopi Goldberg then offered her own perspective, equating the struggles of the trans community with those faced by biological women.
"Part of the problem the trans community is facing, and it's the same problem that women face, is if you don't know anything about our bodies, you don't know how it works," Goldberg said.
She then turned directly to the camera and exclaimed, "When you come in and you say, these are men competing against women, you're assuming that the women are weak and just can't do anything. Have you seen female athletes? They know what they're doing!"

The camera quickly panned to Mulvaney, who appeared slightly stunned but maintained an awkward smile in response to Goldberg's passionate defense.
According to Daily Mail, Mulvaney was on the show to promote her new memoir, 'Paper Doll: Notes from a Late Bloomer.'
The book reportedly chronicles her coming-out story, her first year living as a transgender woman, and the backlash she received after partnering with Bud Light in 2023.

The controversy surrounding that campaign resulted in a significant boycott, with conservative figures like Kid Rock publicly protesting the beer brand.
The boycott reportedly cost Anheuser-Busch over $1 billion in lost sales and dethroned Bud Light as the top-selling beer in the United States.
Dylan Mulvaney's memoir touches upon deeply personal topics
In her memoir, Dylan Mulvaney reflects on her decision to keep some personal moments private despite her social media presence. "I'm trying this new thing where I keep certain things to myself," she wrote. "Little yummy womanly moments just for me," she added.
However, the book still dives into deeply personal topics, including physical intimacies, which Mulvaney herself warned fans may find "a little raunchier than expected."

Mulvaney's journey began in a conservative Catholic household in San Diego.
Initially a stage actor in musicals such as 'The Book of Mormon' her career took a turn when COVID-19 shuttered theater productions.
During that period, she started documenting her transition journey on TikTok, ultimately building a combined following of over 11.2 million across social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
