‘Who's that guy?': Dwyane Wade roasts his own Miami Heat statue as fans say it looks nothing like him
MIAMI, FLORIDA: The Miami Heat recently honored their franchise icon, Dwyane Wade, by unveiling a statue outside the Kaseya Center in Miami, as reported by NBC News.
This tribute immortalizes Wade as the first Heat player to receive such recognition outside the team’s arena, solidifying his legacy with the team and with the city of Miami.
However, despite the significance of the statue, it didn't stop Wade from offering a rather subtle roast of the statue and the NBA fans followed soon.

Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade's statue gets unveiled outside the Kaseya Center
The emotional ceremony on Sunday saw Dwyane Wade moved by the tribute, sharing his reaction with fans and reflecting on his journey.
“This is crazy,” Wade said as he admired the statue. “I wanted to feel this. Life goes by so fast, and it’s very rare that we get to feel things, because we're always off to the next thing. ... I wanted to feel this, man. I wanted to look at it.”
Despite his towering success, Wade remarked that he never anticipated a tribute of this magnitude.
"I didn’t play for this. I didn’t pick up the basketball for this. I picked up the basketball to change my family’s life," he said, visibly touched. He added, "I’m one of the luckiest men in the world because people believe in me."
Created by Omri Amrany and Oscar Leon from Timeless Creations, the statue shows Wade in mid-celebration, with his mouth wide open, his eyes squinted shut, and his arms raised, pointing down in a gesture of triumphant energy that fans remember well.
Seeing the statue for the first time, Wade’s reaction was candid.
“That’s crazy. I can’t believe that. Who’s that guy?” he said with a laugh, glancing repeatedly at the larger-than-life version of himself.

Alongside the statue is a wall highlighting Wade’s illustrious accomplishments, including his titles, scoring records, and recognition as the Heat’s all-time leading scorer.
This tribute is a testament to the long-standing impact Wade has had on Miami basketball, a legacy that he shares with teammate Udonis Haslem as one of two players present on all three championship-winning Heat teams.
