'Who's the parent?': Jimmy Fallon lambasted for giving phones to his minor daughters as Christmas present
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jimmy Fallon has received backlash online for giving phones to his minor children as Christmas presents.
The 49-year-old television host appeared on ‘LIVE with Kelly and Mark’ on December 5, where he shared his Christmas planning.
He also disclosed the gifts he will be giving to his two daughters — Winnie Rose, 10, and Frances Cole, 9 — whom he shares with his wife, Nancy Juvonen.

‘I got them a phone!’
Fallon said, as per OK! Magazine, “They're so into Christmas. I don't know what they want for Christmas, but I know that their friends are getting phones.”
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos soon asked him not to “do it,” but the comedian replied, “I know, but it's happening. It's out of my control.”
He then revealed, “They're going to get it. It's already done.”
But when Consuelos advised, “Get her a flip phone,” Fallon added, “I got them a phone!”
‘Parenting fail’
Social media users were not happy with Fallon’s decision as a user tweeted, “Just heard that Jimmy Fallon caved and got his daughters cell phones for Christmas. Come on, Jimmy, we all know how addictive those things can be! #parentingfail #staystrong.”

He reportedly stated, “I love Christmas so much. I've spent 25 years at 30 Rock doing Saturday Night Live and then Late Night and The Tonight Show, so I'm always surrounded by the ice rink and the Rockettes.”
The father of two disclosed, “I'm so into Christmas… I want to put out an album next year called Holiday Season.”
In 2020, Fallon opened up about fatherhood as he said, as reported by PEOPLE, “My biggest revelation [about fatherhood] is how much I ended up caring for other people's kids, if that makes any sense. You get it more.”
He asserted at the time, “When I didn’t have kids, if I heard a crying baby in the restaurant, I would think, ‘Can you stop the crying and go around the block?’ Now I would be like, ‘Just give me the baby — how can I help? I’ve been there.’”

Fallon added, “I was always kind of emotional — I think it's my Irish-Catholic upbringing. Now, Hallmark is for me. I'm ready for a good cry.”
