Will Taylor Swift change last name after marriage? Travis Kelce's Insta activity sparks debate
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Travis Kelce's one social media activity has sparked debate online after he "liked" an Instagram post that discussed if he and Taylor Swift will be changing their last names after getting married.
The stars are expected to tie the knot this summer in New York City after they got engaged in August 2025.
Podcast hosts joke 'Travis Swift' will be a good name for Kelce after marriage
The football star reportedly liked a clip from the podcast 'Bussin’ With the Boys,' in which hosts Will Compton and Taylor Lewan were seen discussing whether the pop icon will add Kelce to her name after saying "I do". But a guest on the show pointed out that Swift was “way more globally famous” than Kelce, and the NFL athlete, 36, has to change his name.
The hosts further delved into the discussion by saying that “Travis Swift” was a nice name for Kelce. They, however, also added that “Taylor Kelce” was good too. "No, you gotta go Swift-Kelce — Travis Swift-Kelce," Compton and Lewan eventually stated.
Travis Kelce publicly supported Taylor Swift
However, this was not the first time that the couple's social media activity had made news.
In June 2025, when the 'Cruel Summer' singer announced that she got the rights to her first six albums, fans were no doubt very happy for her. But it was Kelce's "like" that sent fans into a frenzy.
Meanwhile, regarding their wedding, it has been said that they will tie the knot on July 3. But amid the expected wedding chaos, Swift and Kelce have continued to enjoy their public date nights.
Last week, the pair was seen attending Game 3 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals between the Knicks and the Cavaliers in Cleveland. Though the NFL star was cheering for the Cavaliers and they lost, he was seen still enjoying himself alongside Swift.
Lawyer says Taylor Swift may foot all bills after marrying Travis Kelce
Since the power couple's wedding is not very far, lawyer Sarah Luetto, a partner in Blank Rome’s Matrimonial & Family Law Group, has shed light on their potential prenup agreement.
Luetto told Page Six, "Swift and Kelce may wish to include terms fostering confidentiality and privacy. This may include non-disparagement or non-disclosure terms related to their relationship."
"In Taylor’s case, she would likely not want to include provisions limiting her from singing about her relationship in songs, particularly since there is always so much speculation about the subjects of her songwriting,” she added.
The lawyer also suggested that Swift may have to "pay all of the couple’s living expenses" because her net worth is much higher than Kelce's.
"When one party is worth significantly more than the other, prenuptial agreements frequently provide that the wealthier party will pay all of the couple’s living expenses while the less wealthy party preserves their separate estate,” Luetto noted.
