LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The ‘Star Trek’ legend William Shatner made a startling shift to the right as he pleaded with President Donald Trump to restore Pluto to greatness following reports that scientists had found a "new" ninth planet.

The 94-year-old Hollywood veteran, best known for the role of Captain Kirk on ‘Star Trek’, urged Trump to make Pluto the ninth planet in the solar system once more, defying scientists.

Shatner’s plea came as a report claimed to have discovered another distant, purely hypothetical celestial entity that many think is the "ninth" planet in our solar system, according to the Daily Mail.

William Shatner urges Donald Trump to make Pluto a planet again

The 'Boston Legal' star took to X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, May 15, to voice his plea, saying, “So there’s a 10th planet that was found in our solar system?”

He also blasted the International Astronomical Union's "corrupt nerds on a power trip" for exerting a "tyranny of the cosmos" by voting to demote Pluto in 2006 and threatening to name any new planet that scientists find.

“I think that we need to change the rules on who gets to name it because the ridiculous astronomers' union, which not only failed to name Pluto’s moon Vulcan and then demoted Pluto as a planet, appears to be just a bunch of corrupt nerds on a power trip,” he added.

Shatner then went on to urge Trump to name Pluto as a planet. “I suggest that we get Trump to name it and while he is at it; restore Pluto as a planet and put an end to the union’s tyranny of the cosmos,” wrote the two-time Emmy Award winner.

The actor also suggested his fans recruit Trump’s close pal Elon Musk to “get the President to sign one of those Executive thingies to make Pluto a planet again.”

Some fans questioned if the POTUS had any control over topics related to the stars, to which Shatner replied, “Says who? He renamed a Gulf, and the Astronomer who discovered Pluto was American. Seems like America has jurisdiction on things outside its borders.”

William Shatner’s meltdown over Donald Trump’s call to make Canada the 51st state

William Shatner’s Pluto plea came just a few days after he blasted Donald Trump's calls for Canada to be annexed as "denigrating."

Appearing on Jesse Watters’ Fox News primetime show, Shatner suggested that newly elected Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney should make "a counteroffer" to Trump following his repeated calls to make Canada the 51st state.

"Let's offer Canada to the United States to be the 11th province," he joked, sending Watters roaring with laughter.

"It's the best thing," the 'Star Trek' star continued. "Here you have a friendly group of people saying, 'Come on over. It's cleaner, there's plenty of power, there's some lovely people who want to work with you. Be our 11th province.'"
