Wiz Khalifa arrested for lighting up 'big a*s joint' on stage during Romania concert, released later

COSTINESTI, ROMANIA: Wiz Khalifa has opened up after being arrested while performing in Romania.

On Saturday, July 13, the ‘See You Again’ singer was escorted from the stage at the Beach, Please! Festival in the Costinesti village.

"Last nights show was amazing. I didn’t mean any disrespect to the country of Romania by lighting up on stage," Khalifa wrote on X (formerly Twitter) the following day.

"They were very respectful and let me go. I'll be back soon. But without a big a*s joint next time."

The viral video shared on social media shows the rapper surrounded by authorities personnel, and taken away from the venue. 

Khalifa "possessed over 18 grams of cannabis (risk drug) and consumed (onstage) another amount of cannabis under the shape of a craft cigarette," per DIICOT.

"We make it clear that, during the entire criminal process, the investigated persons benefit from the procedural rights and guarantees provided by the Code of Criminal Procedure, as well as the presumption of innocence,"  the statement continued.

Recently, Khalifa and his girlfriend Aimee Aguilar announced they are expecting a baby girl.

The ‘Young, Wild & Free’ crooner is next scheduled to perform on the stage in Las Vegas at Drai's Beachclub & Nightclub on August 30 and 31.

Netizens were divided over Wiz Khalifa's arrest during his concert overseas on Saturday. Many felt the star should have been aware of Romania's drug policy before pulling out and smoking on stage.

A user wrote on X, "Honestly they knew it was going to happen."

"All these famous people really need to check their ego before they leave the US. Just because they think they are special or a celebrity and it's okay to take/use drugs in a foreign country, they might just find out the hard way," one expressed.

"This goes too far u can't arrested Snoop and Wiz or Cheech and Chong for smoking weed that's an global unwritten law," a user added.

Another questioned, "You can pay off the police while going 125mph and it's overrun with🇦🇱 crime but a joint is where they draw the line. 🤣🤷🏾‍♂️."
