LONDON, ENGLAND: The 78th British Academy Film Awards, more popularly known as the BAFTAs, are here, and so are the celebrities dressed in their fineries.

As scores of celebrities walked the red carpet at the Royal Festival Hall in London, on Sunday, February 16, some of the ensembles were hits and some were misses.

Though most of the stars left a mark with their artistic endeavors to be creative with their red carpet look, some A-listers left us underwhelmed -- especially since we have come to expect a lot from them -- when it comes to dressing. Here are ten such stars who failed to impress with their fashion choices.

1. Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande seldom has a dull moment on the red carpet. With the songstress pulling off a series of jaw-dropping looks at her prolonged 'Wicked' promotional tour, expectations were higher from the Nickelodeon alum. However, Grande -- who has long established pink to be her color -- failed to cut the mark during her recent appearance at the BAFTAs in a custom Louis Vuitton creation. While the blush pink puff skirt is not something of a novelty, the fitted black bodice of her gown is reminiscent of a black tank top. The exuberance of the skirt clashed wildly with the simplicity of the bodice, resulting in an incohesive creation that no one saw coming, especially from the 'Victorious' star!

2. Camila Cabello

Camila Cabello, while donning a jaw-dropping gown, was probably not dressed for the occasion. The 'My Oh My' singer walked the red carpet wearing a blush pink ensemble featuring a structured corset bodice top along with a sheer mesh skirt with intricate embellishment. While there is nothing wrong with the dress, it would have been better had she left it for the Grammys instead of braving the British winter in the flimsy dress.

3. Gwendoline Christie

Brienne of Tarth, is that you? While Gwendoline Christie's 'Game of Thrones' character is still hailed to this date for her practical approaches, both in her life and fashion, the same sentiment - unfortunately - cannot be shared for her latest BAFTA look. Going for an edgy look, the 46-year-old 'Wednesday' actress opted for a dramatic black dress from Giles Deacon's collection. Unfortunately, the dress's multiple fringes just ended up making the gown look like an unfinished product. Her messy, platinum-blonde hair extension did little to salvage the look.

4. Jeff Goldblum

In tailcoat and feather-embellished waistcoat, Jeff Goldblum looked straight out of a BBC period drama, but not in a good way. Goldblum pulled off a dandyish look in the British formal wear in a black tailcoat with white shirts and black trousers. However, his otherwise stately look was punctuated by an over-the-top feather-embellished waistcoat of green tinge, which clashed dramatically with the purple tint of his signature sunglasses.

5. Jessica Plummer

Jessica Plummer's black ensemble at the BAFTAs had too many things going on - all at once! 'The Decameron' actress' knee-length dress had more than three dissimilar fabrics clashing with each other! While she opted for a black lacy knee-length creation over a black bodysuit, she completed her look with a fur-lined cape secured at the waist with a sleek belt. Lace and fur in the same combination? Not a good choice though!

6. Vera Wang

How many sunglasses are too many sunglasses? While we are still trying to find the answer, designer Vera Wang might have something else in mind. The usually impeccable designer sadly missed the mark at the BAFTAs, when she opted for a classic black and white combination in a white peplum skirt (it looked more like an underskirt though), a black asymmetrical waistband, and a black goggles-shaped tube top! She also carried a black leather jacket to compliment her look which she took on and off on the red carpet, and wore a black sunglasses along with it!

7. Leo Woodall

Where is your tailor, Leo Woodall? While there is nothing wrong with the gorgeous coffee brown suit the 'White Lotus' actor wore to the BAFTAs, a few nips and tucks in the oversized combination wouldn't have hurt anyone. Even Woodall's bow-tie did not agree, as it took a lopsided pose as the actor walked the red carpet.

8. Isabella Rossellini

Though we cannot take our eyes off Isabella Rossellini's hearty smile, sadly, we cannot say the same for her BAFTA look. The actress left many of her fans underwhelmed in the Dolce & Gabbana maroon floral-print shirt dress that looked more suited as a dressing gown at an exotic vacation than on the red carpet of the BAFTAs.

9. Marisa Tomei

Marisa Tomei's outfit at the BAFTAs had all the right elements - just to be structured underwhelmingly! The 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' actress walked the red carpet in a black velvet draped dress with a deep V-slit at the front. While the outfit sounds good on the theoretical level, it was a letdown because of the sloppy cut and ill-fitted shoulder pads.

10. David Tennant

There is a very thin line between a bold outfit and a costume, and David Tennant's black ensemble at the BAFTAs sadly leaned toward the latter. While the sparkling embroidery on his shirt's collars, tie, waistcoat and coat lapel were stunning, the dress might have suited better a magic show, per The List
