LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Gen V’ star Chance Perdomo died in a tragic motorcycle accident a few weeks ago, and now the makers have decided not to recast his character.

The show’s producers confirmed the decision in a statement, “As we continue to navigate the tragic loss of Chance Perdomo, everyone at ‘Gen V’ is determined to find the best way to pay respect to his memory."

“We won’t be recasting the role, because no one can replace Chance. Instead, we have been taking the time and space to recraft our season 2 storylines as we begin production in May.”

It concluded, “We will honor Chance and his legacy this season.”

A spinoff of ‘The Boys', Perdomo played popular Andre Anderson in 'Gen V', an aspiring superhero at Godolkin University who can control magnetism and magnetic fields with his hands.

The 27-year-old will also be remembered for portraying Ambrose Spellman in Netflix’s horror series ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,’ reports HuffPost.

'Gen V' cast statement on Chance Perdomo's death

The ‘Gen-V’ cast earlier paid tribute to Perdomo after the March 30 crash, “Our hearts are with Chance’s loved ones as we grieve this shocking loss. We will remember the special moments we had together, his infectious smile that could light up any room, his warm hugs, and the authenticity he carried with him always.”

“Rest in peace dear friend, you will be deeply missed,” they said in a statement.

Chance’s last social media post went viral after his death. “Day 77. Final calm before storm. #backontheroad,” the chilling caption read on Instagram.
