WWE legend Ric Flair splits from fifth wife Wendy Barlow after 6 years of marriage

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: WWE legend Ric Flair, 75, has announced his separation from his wife of six years Wendy Barlow, 64. 

The WWE Hall of Famer took to his Instagram on Monday, September 23, to share a note announcing their split after 13 years of being together.

The 16-time world champion announced that he and his spouse had decided to “respectfully” end their marriage after tying the knot in 2018.

In a long statement on Instagram, Flair announced his separation from Wendy, citing their respective work schedules as the cause of the split.

Flair wrote in the statement, “Wendy and I enjoyed 13 great years. As with every couple, we have experienced our ups and downs.”

“I think it’s important for everyone to know right now that we have decided to part ways respectfully,” announced the wrestler in his social media post. 

Flair, who was given the nickname Nature Boy during his professional wrestling tenure, further thanked Barlow for her stupendous support of her husband during his health crisis in 2017. 

Per Metro, the wrestler suffered from health complications after having had an obstructive piece of his bowel removed in 2017. He also suffered from kidney failure in the same year which induced him to undergo dialysis. 

Flair wrote that during those trying times, Barlow was always there beside him. 

“I’ll never be able to thank her enough for standing by my side through my terrible health crisis in 2017,” wrote the wrestler before adding, “She never left my side! And for that I will always be grateful!”

Flair then explained the reason for their separation, writing, “We both are working on different projects at the current time and it becomes difficult with my schedule and her schedule to make this work.”

“I wish her the best of luck with her projects and I know that she supports mine” concluded the star.

Ric Flair and Wendy Barlow’s relationship timeline

Flair’s marriage to Barlow marks his fifth failed shot at marriage. Previously, the wrestler was married to Leslie Goodman, Elizabeth Harrell, Tiffany VanDemark and Jaqueline Beems. 

Barlow met Flair almost four decades ago during their stints at World Championship Wrestling (WCW). Barlow even played his valet, the French Maid FiFi at some of the wrestling events. 

Previously in 2022, they broke up temporarily before reconciling again. Ric, the father of WWE superstar Charlotte Flair, posted another note on his social media during that time as well, announcing their split. 

He wrote during this time, "After Taking Some Time Apart, Wendy And I Have Decided To Go Our Separate Ways. Please Respect Our Privacy & Our Families During This Time! I Will Love & Cherish All Of Our Memories Together Forever, And I Will Forever Be Thankful For All She Has Done To Make My Life Better!
