LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Peter Crombie, who gained immense popularity for playing the "Crazy" Joe Davola on 'Seinfeld' died on Wednesday, January 10, aged 71.

His ex-wife, Nadine Kijner, shared the news, noting that Crombie was battling with an undisclosed illness that claimed his life, as per TMZ.

Kijner added, "He was the kindest most caring, giving, considerate man. He was loved by everybody, generous, and never had anything bad to say about anyone."

Legacy of Peter Crombie

Crombie garnered an intense fanbase as Davola in five episodes of NBC's 'Seinfeld' Season 4, which began airing on August 12, 1992, and concluded on May 20, 1993. 

The actor's fearsome character went on to terrorize and threaten Jerry Seinfeld, the lead of the show. 

With 35 credits to his name, Crombie has had a diverse portfolio of work in Hollywood. He has acted in movies like 'My Dog Skip', 'Natural Born Killers', 'The Blob', 'Se7en', and 'Rising Sun', among others.

He also received acting credits for the TV miniseries 'House of Frankenstein' and guest starred in 'NYPD Blue', 'Diagnosis Murder', 'Law & Order', and 'Perfect Strangers'. 

Fans remember the contribution of Peter Crombie

As the news of Crombie's death surfaced online, fans poured in with their condolences to the grieving family.

One observed, "90s actors are taking a hit these days," while another wrote, "'I know you badmouthed me to the execs at NBC. Put the kibosh on my deal. Now I'm gonna put the kibosh on you'," remembering a line from Seinfeld. 

Referring to the same, someone else said, "Somebody put the kibosh on his deal with NBC."
