NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'American Idol' host Ryan Seacrest reportedly got emotional during his 'Good Morning America' interview with host Will Reeve.
Seacrest, 48, had appeared on the show to talk about his passion project as well as his upcoming role as the host of 'Wheel of Fortune', according to the US Sun.
What is Ryan Seacrest's passion project?
The media personality has built Seacrest Studios, which are "state-of-the-art broadcast studios", in many children's hospitals across the country.
When asked how he feels when seeing the children who are "going through a hard time" at his studios, Seacrest stated, "You feel a lot. You see everything. You feel the weight of what's happening."
"You look over and you see it on a mom or dad's face...when they're going through something tough with their kids," he tried to continue but had to pause to collect himself. "Sorry. I'm getting emotional talking about it," he added as he got emotional.
Seacrest said that he has had the chance to connect with the children and their families.
"I had a kid say to me, 'I'm very excited. It's going to be a great Christmas. I got approved to get new lungs.' It was as if he was getting a new bike. That kind of excitement," shared Seacrest, adding that such stories "really tap into your emotions."
Ryan Seacrest is excited to host 'Wheel of Fortune'
Ryan Seacrest claimed to be a big fan of 'Wheel of Fortune', praising Pat Sajak, who co-hosted the show with Vanna White.
"Pat Sajak is one of the greatest hosts in television," he said, adding, "He's a legend. He's done such a brilliant job at navigating that show through all of these decades."
"I look forward to developing that kind of report with an audience in the evening. I'm excited, sure. I'm a little bit nervous too," Seacrest confessed.
He later concluded the interview by saying, "What's the point of doing all these other things and having some success in them if you can't give back? If you can't try and find that happiness for others. And that's what we try to do every day and what we hope to continue to do as the years go by."
