Internet mocks Kanye West as he rants about Taylor Swift and brags he still ‘helps her career’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kanye West has once again captured headlines, this time by asserting himself as a key factor in Taylor Swift's rise to fame in the music industry, while also taking a dig at her fans, a statement that stirred controversy among internet users, particularly Swift's devoted fanbase, known as Swifties.
Recently, West faced heavy criticism after referencing the 'Lover' singer in his track 'Carnival' from his latest album 'Vultures Volume 1'. Swifties swiftly came to her defense, condemning West for mentioning her in a provocative song.
Additionally, West found himself in the spotlight following reports of a heated argument with his wife, Bianca Censori, which gained traction online. The altercation reportedly stemmed from Censori's objection to West including antisemitic lyrics during a listening event for his new album.
Kanye West asserts he has helped Taylor Swift becoming successful in rant
According to reports from the Sun, West stirred up controversy on Wednesday when he shared a screenshot of a tweet from a Swiftie. The tweet highlighted Beyonce's 'Texas Hold 'Em' competing with West for the number 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
The Swiftie encouraged fellow fans to stream Beyonce's single to knock West down on the charts, claiming that West had been dragging Swift down. This was in response to West previously sharing a tweet stating he had surpassed Swift on Spotify.
In response, West took to Instagram to rant in the caption of the shared tweet. He clarified, "When I said that i’m the new jesus b***h I wasn’t even thinking about taylor swift. That was a whole line before but I appreciate the free promo. Lil wayne actually mentions travis kelsey on vultures 2. this album is actually super positive and fun it’s all about triumphant. last year was incredibly challenging for me, my wife, my children, friends and family. I’ve been banned from hotels, kicked out of companies, and even not allowed to eat in some restaurants. Everyone saw vultures 1 get taken off of platforms to limit our first week numbers. This reminds me of the mistreatment of my people because of the color of our skin."
Continuing, West attributed Swift's success partly to his support and asserted, "Remember I was on Taylor’s side when scooter bought her masters behind her back. She and Beyoncé are big inspirations to all musicians we always say how both sell out tours and movies. Also, I’m sure I’ve been far more helpful to Taylor Swift’s career than harmful. To all Taylor Swift fans I am not your enemy ummm I'm not your friend either though lol."
