WASHINGTON, DC: Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday, June 4, engaged in a heated confrontation on Capitol Hill after being questioned by a reporter about the January 6 Capitol riot.

During the sharp exchange, Pelosi repeatedly dismissed the reporter's questions as false and challenged her professional credibility because of her employment with MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell.

Nancy Pelosi rejects Capitol security claims

The confrontation began when reporter Alison Steinberg approached the California congresswoman and attempted to revisit a previous, similarly contentious exchange about whether Pelosi had blocked the National Guard from securing the Capitol on January 6.

When Steinberg claimed that Pelosi had previously told her to "shut up" for repeating Republican talking points, Pelosi did not back down.

"And I'll tell you to shut up again because you're speaking lies, and I don't have anything to do with it," Pelosi responded.

When the reporter alleged that Pelosi had admitted involvement, the congresswoman countered, "No, I did not admit it. The president never sent– would agree to send the National Guard. Don't waste your time or mine on you."

Nancy Pelosi questions reporter's journalistic credentials

As the questioning continued, with Steinberg asking about the presence of Nancy Pelosi’s daughter filming her during the January 6 events, the atmosphere became increasingly combative.

Pelosi signaled her refusal to engage further, telling the reporter to "get away from me." The former Speaker then shifted focus to Steinberg's professional background, explicitly questioning whether she was a legitimate journalist.

"You know what, I don't even think you're a real journalist. You work for Mike, pillow man?" Pelosi asked, referring to MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell. When Steinberg confirmed her employment and said she was proud of it, Pelosi remained dismissive.

"Yeah, I don't consider that journalism. Mike the pillow man, that's not journalism. I don't have any reason to talk to you."

Nancy Pelosi repeats denial on camera

The exchange concluded with Pelosi urging that the interaction be documented on the reporter's own equipment to emphasize her position. Despite Steinberg's offer of a free pillow, Pelosi continued to challenge the reporter's professional legitimacy.

"You should record this. I want people to know that you're not a real journalist. You work for Mike the pillow man, and all you do is spout untruths. Get away from me," Pelosi stated.

As the reporter attempted to push back, Pelosi repeated her demand: "Get away from me."
