Zac Brown reveals he's 'going into debt' to produce his Las Vegas Sphere residency

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Zac Brown has revealed that he has taken on debt to bring his four-show residency at the Las Vegas Sphere to life later this year.
The country star, 46, is investing heavily in the upcoming concert series, which launches in December and coincides with the release of the Zac Brown Band’s new album, 'Love & Fear'.
Though the decision raised eyebrows online, Brown believes the risk is worth the reward for what he describes as a once-in-a-lifetime creative opportunity.

The Grammy-winning musician opened up about the financial challenge of staging the ambitious Las Vegas shows in a recent interview.
“Just going into debt to make it happen,” Brown told Us Weekly in an interview published Friday, July 25.
He views the Sphere concerts as a defining moment in his band’s career. “It’s a big moment in time,” Brown shared.
“I want to be among the names of the Grateful Dead and the Rolling Stones and the bands that take that lifelong career impact fan journey to be able to do that," he shared. “This is our statement to try to step into that.”
Zac Brown reveals personal journey and redemption theme in Sphere residency
Known for blending country with rock and storytelling, Zac Brown said the Sphere shows will bring a new level of creativity and vulnerability.
“Whatever adversity, I’m just like, ‘Okay, bring it,’” he said. “There are lots of forces that are always trying to distract you from what you’re doing, and you just got to keep plowing, keep going.”

With the Sphere’s immersive audio-visual features, Brown is curating an experience beyond music.
“I hope they feel wonder,” he noted. “Unpredictability is something we use in our live shows a lot. I love pulling out covers that no one would ever expect us to play; that’s super fun. This is the same thing visually, sonically – everything we’re doing.”
He said the audio is complete, and the video is still being pieced together. “We’re putting the video pieces together, stitching it together. I’m finishing the story,” he continued. “I’m telling a lot of personal things about my life that I’ve never shared before.”

Brown said the show will feature “a theme of redemption” and noted, “Taking people on a journey through things that are uncomfortable and then creating that dissonance and then that tension and release is really the art of what we’re doing.”
He concluded, “I haven’t seen anything like what we’re doing there. So, it’s really exciting.”
Internet reacts as Zac Brown’s debt revelation raises eyebrows
Zac Brown’s announcement drew mixed reactions online, with some questioning the financial sense of going into debt for a Vegas residency.
“A Vegas residency is considered the holy grail because you get full room and board while being paid to perform on a regular basis. How is going broke while doing this even possible?” asked one user on X.

A third user added, “It’s his choice, folks are out here legitimately struggling and he's worried about a lavish lifestyle that he can't afford. Move to a normal size house, condo, or apartment, and buy a normal $30,000- $40,000 car. Problem solved.”
