The actor, who played the character of Troy, shared his excitement upon learning that fans found similarities between the real-life love story of the tight end and the pop star and the plot of the film.

In the 2006 film 'High School Musical', viewers witnessed Hudgens' Gabriella, known for her academic achievements, romancing Efron's Troy, who was an athlete, and their quest to star in a musical while tackling a key basketball game and a decathlon. 

During an interview with E! News, while promoting his Amazon Prime Video movie 'Ricky Stanicky', Efron came to know about the comparison that the fans are drawing between the love story of the 'Blank Space' singer and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end with that of Troy and Gabriella.

Upon learning the parallels, he could not contain his excitement and shared with the news outlet, "Wow, I didn't think about that. That's really cool. Shout out to all the High School Musical fans." 

He further praised the latest power couple’s relationship and added, "I love the whole Travis, Taylor thing. Man, I'm so happy for them. They're two of the best people in the world. How can you not be stoked?"

As the Golden Globes and one of the Chiefs' games were scheduled within hours of each other, a netizen took to X (formerly Twitter) to point out how similar the circumstance was to that of the 'High School Musical'. 

They wrote, "The Chiefs game and the Golden Globes being within hours of each other reminds me when Troy and Gabriella had the basketball game and the academic decathlon at the same time as the audition for the school music."

Hudgens, who played Gabriella in the Disney movie franchise, supposedly reacted to the post by saying, "Hilarious," as per E! News.

Several others took to social media to point out the similarities, with one writing, "Taylor having a concert across the world the same day as travis is playing in the superbowl is so high school musical coded you can't even make this up."

Another enthralled individual noted, "Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce having the Grammys, the Eras Tour Tokyo and the SuperBowl all in one week is literally the plot of high school music but if Gabriella had a jet."
