LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Could Zach Bryan be redefining success in the music industry? Zach Bryan, the breakout star of country music, made headlines after winning his first Grammy for 'I Remember Everything' with Kacey Musgraves at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards.

However, he has opted not to submit any work for the 2025 Grammy Awards, raising eyebrows about his relationship with the music industry. As Bryan continues to dominate the charts and concert circuits, fans online rally behind the country singer after his bold move.

The acclaimed singer-songwriter, one of the most commercially successful artists, is reportedly included on the extensive ballot that has been sent out to Grammy voters.

However, a search of the online ballot—accessible only to Recording Academy members—shows that Bryan’s name is missing from the thousands of entries for categories like Record of the Year, Album of the Year, or Song of the Year.

His albums and songs are also not listed in any rock, country, or Americana categories, where he would typically compete.

Sources indicate that Bryan chose not to submit this year because he feels uncomfortable with the competitive nature of awards shows. This aligns with his well-known ambivalence toward the music industry, although he has previously submitted his work for awards.

Which other music stars have declined to submit their songs?

By opting out, Zach Bryan joins a small group of superstars, including The Weeknd and Drake, who have also decided to skip the process, as per Digital Music news.

While The Weeknd made his choice after being completely shut out of nominations during the year 'Blinding Lights' gained immense popularity, Bryan’s decision comes shortly after he won a Grammy earlier this year.

Bryan won his first Grammy in 2024 for 'I Remember Everything', a duet with Kacey Musgraves, which earned him the award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. Overall. He has received four nominations, with three coming last year and one the year before, all in the country category.

Despite this, he has stated that he does not see himself solely as a country artist. Although Bryan is one of the biggest breakout artists of the last five years, he did not receive a Best New Artist nomination from the Grammys during his eligibility, surprising many. His success at the CMA Awards has also been limited, with only two nominations to date.

In 2023, he was nominated for Best New Artist but did not win, marking his only nod that year. For the 2024 CMAs, he received one nomination for Musical Event of the Year for his duet with Musgraves. Bryan does not promote his songs on country radio, which may explain his limited success at the CMAs. However, he received 16 nominations at the People’s Choice Country Awards, winning one of them when the show aired two weeks ago.
