Zooey Deschanel spills beans on her wedding plans with Jonathan Scott

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Zooey Deschanel has shared her wedding plans with her partner Jonathan Scott. The 43-year-old actress spoke with ET's Nischelle Turner at the ELLE Women in Hollywood event, which happened on December 5, at Nya Studios in Los Angeles, California.

The 'New Girl' actress and the Canadian reality television personality had got engaged in August 2023 at Edinburgh Castle in Scotland.

The special day was witnessed by Deschanel’s two children — daughter Elsie Otter, 8, and son Charlie Wolf, 6 — whom she shares with her former spouse, Jacob Pechenik.

Zooey Deschanel believes in having a ‘chill’ wedding

Deschanel said, “We're, like, very, like, chill, you know.” She further stated, “We haven't figured anything out just yet, but it's fun to, like, talk about.”

Entertainment reporter Nischelle Turner then asked Deschanel, “Jonathan has said it's important to have bagpipes there for him. Is there anything for you that it's like, 'This is a must-have that I must have at the wedding?’”

The actress excitedly answered, “Dancing all night, baby.”

Zooey Deschanel reveals her Christmas plan

The ‘500 Days of Summer’ star also disclosed her plans for the holiday season.

She said, “We just like to hang out and, you know, open presents. Hang out with our families.”

Regarding cooking, Deschanel said she likes it but does not want to spend much time in the kitchen. She added, “I'd be very into, like, a cheese plate.”

Earlier, Deschanel and Scott revealed that her little children were in shock on her engagement day, as they believed that she and Scott were already married.

The 45-year-old film producer told PEOPLE, “When Elsie turned around and read [the sign], that was the first time she learned. And she immediately goes, 'Huh, did you just get married?’”

He shared, “And we're like, 'Well, no, not yet, but we got engaged.' And she's like, 'Does that mean I get to be a flower girl?' And we're like, 'Yes. Yes, you can.' So it was really sweet to have them there too.”

Deschanel then added, “So cute. It was so special.”

In June, the ‘Bridge to Terabithia’ actress honored Scott on the occasion of Father’s day. She posted on Instagram, “As a mom in a co-parenting family, I am just so grateful for the dads in mine and my kids’ lives!"

“From Daddy (Jacob), to Bonus Daddy (big-dad jonathan), Papa (Caleb) and Grandpa Jim. We are blessed with amazing father figures.”
