According to sources, the officer exhibited aggressive behavior, which prompted the special agent in charge and a detail shift supervisor to intervene.

However, the officer, who was armed, tackled the senior agent in charge of the security detail and began punching him.

Fortunately, the weapon remained in the holster until the officer was disarmed by his colleagues, according to DailyMail.

What did Secret Service officials make of this matter?

The Secret Service informed reporters that an agent on the vice president's detail began “displaying behavior their colleagues found distressing” and was relieved of his duty on Monday.

According to the Secret Service, Vice President Kamala Harris was at her house in the Naval Observatory when the incident occurred, however, her travel plans were unaffected.

Secret Service Chief of Communications Anthony Guglielmi said in a statement, “The US Secret Service takes the safety and health of our employees very seriously. As this was a medical matter, we will not disclose any further details.”

The protection of the president and the vice president of the United States is deemed the most crucial responsibility of the Secret Service agency.

Consequently, only the most qualified agents are typically appointed to this vital undertaking.

According to sources within the Secret Service, the agent in question employment has been called into a question due to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practices.

Moreover, other agents had previously reported unusual behavior by the agent before the altercation at the airport.

Another X user said, "Is there anything this administration doesn't screw up."

Finally, this user tweeted, "This is what DEI gets ya. Not the best or brightest just a person to check off a box on a page showing how inclusive you are. Not what I’d want from my usss detail."
