Adele reportedly engaged to Rich Paul after basketball agent proposes with whopping 'four-carat' ring
LONDON, UK: Adele and Rich Paul are reportedly engaged, with the basketball agent proposing to the Grammy winner on Thursday during their visit to the UK.
The couple has long been speculated to be married, as they have referred to each other as their spouses on several occasions.
However, an insider recently told The Sun that the deliriously in-love couple just got engaged on Thursday, with their family anticipating a big wedding toward the end of 2025.
Adele and Rich Paul celebrate engagement with a four-carat ring
During their recent visit to Adele’s hometown of Tottenham in North London, the 42-year-old agent proposed to the 36-year-old Grammy winner.
The insider revealed that Adele quickly informed her loved ones about the engagement, sharing that Paul proposed with a four-carat ring.
The insider shared with the news outlet, “Rich planned for the proposal to be in her hometown, and gave her an incredible four-carat diamond ring.”
The tipster continued, “They celebrated with champagne at Chiltern Firehouse the following evening,” and noted, “Adele thinks it’s hilarious that fans reckon they’re already married.”
"It’s been an in-joke," continued the tipster before adding, “Now everyone is joking that she could make the ultimate wedding singer.”
The news of their engagement comes exactly three years after the couple went public with their relationship in July 2021, when they appeared together courtside at an NBA game.
Meanwhile, the songstress recently announced that she would be taking a break from music "to explore other creative things."
Adele and Rich Paul have long been speculated to have tied the knot
Adele, who was previously married to British charity entrepreneur Simon Konecki, reportedly finds it amusing that her fans have long speculated that she and Rich Paul are already married.
The rumor of their marriage had been circulating for at least a year before two audience members at Alan Carr’s comedy show in Los Angeles first shared the news, per Daily Mail.
Last year, two audience members revealed to the social media gossip site Deuxmoi that the Academy Award-winning singer allegedly tied the knot and announced her marriage during a visit to her best friend Alan Carr’s comedy show in Los Angeles.
An audience member shared, “I was at Alan Carr's comedy show in LA tonight and Adele was in the audience. Alan asked the crowd if anyone got married recently and Adele shouted 'I did.'”
Another attendee from the show mentioned that it was a “small and intimate” event, adding, “When he asked if anyone had recently gotten married, she yelled 'I did.' It was super cute and very sweet, but she left just before it ended.”
The onlookers added, “Adele was sitting right behind me with a friend, having the best time. Her security only came in to bring her snacks,” and noted, “She didn’t care if people knew she was there. She was heckling him—they’re best friends.”
Meanwhile, during her concert in Las Vegas last September, the ‘Someone Like You’ songstress further fueled rumors of her nuptials by referring to Paul as her “husband.”
As seen in a TikTok clip, a woman in the audience asked Adele, “Will you marry me?” The ‘Skyfall’ songstress handled the situation like a pro when she replied, “You can't marry me. I'm straight, my love, and my husband's here tonight.”
As the fan further asked, “Can you try?” Adele replied, “No, I don't want to try. I'm with Rich. You're crazy, leave me alone.”
