LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Rob Lowe, the actor, filmmaker, and podcast host, expressed his enthusiasm as he eagerly stepped into a new decade with confidence.

During Direct TV's Streaming with the Stars Oscars viewing party on Sunday, March 10, the actor from 'Oxford Blues' shared with PEOPLE his perspective on aging and his excitement about approaching his 60th birthday later this month.

What did Rob Lowe say? 

While it's typical to experience nerves about reaching a milestone birthday, Lowe expressed that he has "never felt better" about approaching his golden years.

Lowe, set to celebrate his 60th birthday on March 17, said, "Luckily, I've had some time as the run-up, I love the milestone birthdays, because it really is an opportunity to reflect and to think about where you want to go."

Lowe expressed his gratitude saying, "I'm so humbled and grateful that I have never had more things that are interesting to me going on in my life. Never felt better. My relationships and every level, I'm in the pocket and this is exactly the way I want to go into my next decade." 

What are Lowe's future plans? 

Discussing his plans, the 'Parks & Recreation' alum mentioned that "there's a lot" in store.

Lowe said, "I feel like I'm beginning a whole other chapter of my life." He added, "I will follow anything that satisfies my curiosity, where I can learn and where I can have some sort of an impact, whether it's movies, TVs, podcasts, books, business marketing, I'm in."

Previously, the actor shared insights into the lifestyle changes he has embraced to maintain physical health as he ages.

He shared, "I feel better than I've ever felt. And I think part of it is because I'm more cognizant of self-care. I'm as strong as I've ever been.”

“I remember being intimidated turning 40. I remember being intimidated turning 50, and this is no different. And just like those milestones, the closer I get, the better I feel about it", Lowe explained. 

When it comes to his goals for his 60s, Lowe underscored the significance of achieving a balance between "longevity and consistency." He emphasized that he would never "push himself" beyond his capacity.

"The challenge for me is a day off means a day off but I want to continue to do stuff,” The 'West Wing' actor said. “I really have to push myself to say, 'No, no, this is the day where it's okay to sit on the couch and watch football.' I love a good sauna, I love the cold plunge, and I've become reacquainted with the value of just a long walk, which I used to think was a waste of time, and I now know differently," Lowe said.
