Alec Baldwin slammed as he warns about ‘pre-Civil War environment' in US: 'He deserves prison'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Alec Baldwin has made yet another impassioned plea to Americans, warning that the country is in what he calls a “pre-Civil War environment.”
In a rambling video posted to social media, the actor appeared exhausted, distracted, and at times incoherent as he compared the current political climate to the turbulent era leading up to the American Civil War, reports GP.

Alec Baldwin draws parallels between modern politics and pre-Civil War tensions
Speaking to the camera, Baldwin referenced Ken Burns’ famous 'The Civil War' documentary, urging viewers to watch it for insight into America’s current state.
“You can see now that we are in a pre-Civil War culture,” he said, drawing historical comparisons to the deep divisions of the 1860s.
“When they describe things back then politically, there are profound differences, of course, in terms of just history. What life was like back then, and cotton, and slavery, and Lincoln, and Robert E Lee, and so forth. There’s just so many. This incredible story, awful that this country had to go through that, awful.”

He went on to describe today’s political landscape as one where “no one’s going to falter, no one’s going to break or compromise, and it’s bad.”
Struggling with fatigue, he admitted, “I’m trying to stop the yawning because I’m so tired from the jet lag, but in order for us to get anywhere, it doesn’t seem likely right now. Watching this show really reminded me of how we are in a very similar state now in a pre-Civil War culture, in a pre-Civil War environment.”
Baldwin wrapped up by expressing his admiration for Burns' documentary, saying, “It’s hard to believe. If you have some time and you’re looking for something good to watch on TV, find in any way you can on the internet, Ken Burns’ epic, epic piece, The Civil War. It’s remarkable.”
Baldwin’s dire warning comes amid a turbulent chapter in his personal life.
Not only has he been vocal about his disdain for Donald Trump’s return to the White House, but he’s also been entangled in legal troubles stemming from the fatal 'Rust' shooting incident. The ongoing investigations into his role in the accidental death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins have kept him in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

“I’m starting to see this talk from the Democrat side. It looks like they are seriously pushing for a Civil War. They got their playbook/talking points,” one user claimed. Another added, “What’s ironic is that the ones on the left are the more violent. So if we are in a ‘pre-Civil War environment,’ who do we think will try and start it?”

Others took direct aim at Baldwin himself. “He doesn’t deserve a show on TV, he doesn’t deserve any interviews or scripted lies with his wife by his side, he deserves prison. Ugh, this man makes my skin crawl,” one user wrote.
Another sarcastically asked, “Did his wife grant him permission to talk?”
