Alec Baldwin’s wife Hilaria gets schooled for awkward interview: ‘Show some respect to your husband’

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Alec Baldwin’s wife Hilaria Baldwin has drawn immense criticism from social media users after she appeared to cut her husband during a recent interview at the grand ppening of the new Planet Hollywood NYC. 

The couple, who have been showcasing their daily lives through their recently launched show - ‘The Baldwins’, recently stopped for an interview with Extra TV on March 11. 

While the ‘30 Rock’ actor, 66, and his 41-year-old wife are no stranger to social media criticism, their recent on-camera interview left many fans fuming over Hilaria’s supposedly comedic dismissal of her husband.

The couple who tied the knot in 2012, and share seven children together, recently appeared for an interview with Extra TV where they were asked about the probability of the second season of their TLC reality show, ‘The Baldwins’. 

While the show manages to give the viewers glimpses of their family dynamics, several social media users felt the short interview clip probably gave away more than that, per BuzzFeed.

As the couple were asked whether there is a chance for the renewal of the show for a second season, the ‘Saturday Night Live’ alum replied, "The Hilaria Show.”

His wife chimed in to say that she would first see how it feels to have the show "be out there".

Alec, nevertheless, said, "It's going to be great. You're a winner," to his wife. But his response apparently did not sit well with his wife, as she clapped back, “When I'm talking, you're not talking. Shh.”

She reiterated, "No. When I'm talking, you're not talking."

Holding her hand up to block Alec’s face, she continued, "This is why we'll just have to cut him out of the show."

At this, her husband gave a bombastic side eye to the camera, which soon went viral on the internet. 

The glimpses of their marital discord continued when the ‘Beetlejuice’ actor revealed that he had made portions of the show appear imbecilic to make it more entertaining as their family life is usually normal, but Hilaria soon cut him off, saying, "No, we just cut all that part out."

Elsewhere in the interview, the mother-of-seven even accused her husband of “distracting” her. She asked the actor, “Why?” before continuing, “Why are you distracting me?”

When her husband tried to reply, she interjected again, and said, "Stop! You're annoying me. Stop. It's not cute.” She continued with the tone, as she turned to the interviewer to add, "No. He's distracting me."

At one point, Alec appeared to take a jab at Hilaria when he asked her how to say “essential” in Spanish, leaving the netizens further in splits. 

Internet slams 'disrespectful' Hilaria Baldwin

Social media users, understandably, were annoyed with Hilaria Baldwin's words and behavior.

One user commented on YouTube, "The amount of disrespect she shows to him is suffocating. He looks like a caged animal trying to get away. *I am not stating an opinion on the movie/lawsuits."

Someone else noted, "She needs to get over herself. Alec Baldwin is WHY they have that show in the first place."

"I can't stand her," declared another person, before adding, "Doesn't she realize the only reason people even know her name is because of Alec? And show some respect to your husband!"

"Hilaria, word of advice.....Less is More. Try it," shared another exasperated user. 

Someone else noted, "Omg....... why embarrass your husband?"

Another fan of Alec Baldwin noted, "Oh boy she not nice with him!!!"

"I don't usually find Alec Baldwin to be a a very likable or sympathetic person, but he seemed so pathetically defeated when she spoke to him in such a nasty, dismissive way, I may still not like him, but I did feel some sympathy for him. Hmmmm... I wonder if he purposely married, the most obnoxious, harpy he could find so that people actually would feel bad and forget how much of a jerk he can be," shared another user. 

Someone else noted, "She’s so disrespectful. He clearly is giving her the floor and she is telling him to shut up. So sad."

"Wow. She's really insufferable and she absolutely hates him and is happy to show it," added another user.
