Amber Heard eyes ‘splashy’ Hollywood comeback as she seeks producer role like Johnny Depp: Insider

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Amber Heard is reportedly eager to return to Hollywood after stepping away from the spotlight.
Heard faced a highly publicized defamation trial against Johnny Depp in 2022, which she lost. Subsequently, she relocated to Spain to embrace a quieter lifestyle and work on reshaping her public image.
Amber Heard seeks return to film industry on 'her own terms'
Amber Heard, 39, is now said to be seeking a return to the film industry, but she reportedly wants to do it on her terms.
“She wants to make a splashy comeback, and she's raising eyebrows at the same time because she insists on calling the shots and being a producer like Johnny has been,” an insider told Radar Online.
The source added that while Heard is actively pitching projects, things haven’t gone as smoothly as she hoped.
“Amber's making all kinds of pitches, but it's not turning out the way she expected,” the insider said. “It's becoming frustrating for her."
The insider further explained that Heard reinvented herself in Spain and that she's "happy" with her life there.

But now, "she wants to go to the next step and make her own money, her own way,” according to an insider.
Amber Heard’s rep denies career troubles amid claims of industry pushback
While insiders claimed Hollywood doors weren't opening easily, Amber Heard's representative reportedly denied she was facing trouble securing work.
The rep stated that "her career continues to thrive," per the outlet.
Despite this, the same outlet reported that Heard's return could be complicated by Depp’s continued success.

“But there is no doubt Depp, who denied abusing her, seems to be everywhere," added the insider.
The outlet further reported that Depp, who is shooting 'Day Drinker' with Penelope Cruz, is drawing press for his new "mature look."
The insider also revealed, “He's coming back with this fantastic role in which he's unrecognizable – and it's taking him to a plus for him."
Hollywood embraces Johnny Depp again
Johnny Depp, 61, has been gaining media buzz and industry attention in recent months.
“Johnny's getting all kinds of attention, and his peers are hailing his return. He's also rumored to return to the Pirates franchise as well. Johnny himself is campaigning for it,” the insider told Radar Online.

Meanwhile, the publication cited sources claiming it’s been tough for Heard to witness her ex-husband being so warmly embraced by Hollywood again.
The insider predicted that this will likely deepen the ongoing strain between the former couple, who ended their marriage in 2016 after 15 months.
