LOS ANGELES, OHIO: Amber Rose has sparked controversy after publicly supporting Donald Trump's debunked claims that Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, are abducting and eating pets.

The false allegations, which were also repeated by Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, have been widely discredited by local authorities and fact-checkers.

Amber Rose backs Donald Trump's false claims

Amber Rose, who publicly endorsed Donald Trump earlier this year, was asked about the allegations during an interview with TMZ.

Despite the claims being debunked, the model backed them, stating, “Haitian immigrants are absolutely eating people’s cats and dogs in Springfield.”

When pressed by the interviewer, who referenced local officials denying the claims, she defended her stance by citing social media as her source of evidence.

"I've seen videos online where people claim their pets were taken by Haitian immigrants," said Rose, doubling down on the former president's narrative.

False claims about Haitian immigrants eating pets circulate despite lack of evidence

In recent weeks, both Donald Trump and Ohio Senator JD Vance have continued to recirculate the claims as they suggested that Haitian immigrants were responsible for missing pets in Ohio.

However, no evidence has surfaced to support these claims.

Denying the rumors, Springfield city officials confirmed that there have been no reports or credible evidence of such incidents.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources also refuted viral images circulating on social media that falsely connected the claims to a separate, unrelated event involving a man and geese.

Donald Trump and JD Vance accused of racism

Donald Trump and JD Vance’s pet-eating claims have drawn widespread criticism, with many accusing the Republican presidential candidate and his running mate of using racially charged rhetoric to target Haitian immigrants.

However, Rose dismissed the allegations of racism during her interview.

“Why is it racist if it’s true?” asked the rapper, who suggested that consuming cats is a "known fact" in Haitian culture, but acknowledged that not all Haitians engage in the practice.

Representatives from the Haitian community and local officials have condemned the remarks, emphasizing the harm caused by perpetuating such falsehoods.

Internet mocks Amber Rose backing Donald Trump and JD Vance's pet-eating claims

Amber Rose’s backing of Donald Trump and JD Vance's pet-eating claims has drawn significant backlash online with netizens also mocking the model for claiming it is part of Haitian culture.

One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, "Funny. I didn't know that it was part of their culture until the election," and another added, "She got that Trump syndrome."

"Always known she was an idiot, so happy she's finally letting the world know her truth," a netizen commented, while someone else opined, "She just as stupid as Trump."

"Amber Rose is IGNORANT," an individual remarked, and another tweeted, "When someone shows you (repeatedly) how dumb & ignorant they are, believe them. Amber Rose has never shown one drop of intelligence."
